One day more! One more day to revolution.....wait, wrong forum. But here we are. All the countless hours spent debating what may happen on draft night, will end tomorrow. Well, maybe not end but pause. Cause we've been at this a lot longer than when I started this countdown. Like, a lot longer. Any guesses as to when a thread dedicated to a draft that hasn't happened yet was started? Earlier than that.

Am I too early?

We are 1-6. This season came together quite quickly. The Raps are not playing at home......

.....So lets look to the bright side. We have our pick. As of right now it looks like it could be a decent pick.

Who is looking good for next year's draft?

Some observations from those early days? TRex, you have been nothing but consistent.
There were some prescient thoughts

There's a high probability we will draft somebody named Jalen.

And some, fortunately, not that prescient

Forget the top 4 guys.. who's 7, 8, 9, or 10? Are those franchise altering talents? Because that's where we're picking. Still a lot of games to be played. And the lottery has changed a bit since we last had a pick.

Anyway you look at it tomorrow is the day. Let's hope it brings us together (though it likely won't at first but then it will). Do whatever you need to do for it. Pour through draft websites. Consult your local shaman. Get all your rabbit's feet and four leaf clovers lined up. Go for a run to clear your head. Or maybe your go to routine before the big day is carb loading. Speaking of which, that reminds me of todays #1 pick.

Seems odd though, most of the changes were relatively minor, if your going to change it after the fact why not to some tangible benefit? Risk reward seems off.

The excitement is in the air, due to us being raptors fans, being able to select high in a loaded draft. This time around, it won't be a Bargnani, or Araujo (complete unknowns) and we know what we will be getting with whoever we draft. Can't wait anymore let's go Masai lol

Araujo draft was the beginning of my Raptors super fan hood where I followed everything closely (actually started the year before as I was a Georgia Tech freshman with Chris Bosh and would see him on the bus all the time and went to every GT basketball game). I was so excited for us to get Igoudala, he was projected to us the whole time and fell to us. He would have been an awesome fit next to Vince. Then I was completely gutted when we drafted the stiff from BYU that most had as a fringe 1st round pick. Easily the worst draft pick in Raptors history. If we take Iggy there Vince probably doesn't leave. Vince, Bosh, and Igoudala is a very solid core in the early 2000s.

Anyways..... So glad we have Masai and turned the page from that dumpster fire of an era.

Regarding trading up or down

In my opinion what it tells me is that they are wanting to see what happens at the draft but are really going to try hard to obviously move up if at all possible. It tells me they probably like Suggs but not as much as some of the other top 4 who they see as having longer term upside. I think it tells me thats what they value is the ceiling factor over the floor. Again we are talking about multiple championships so even if it means we are slightly worse initially long term they want the best prospect. They also don't want to drop down because they have assess some sort of gap.

You have a solid player, that does everything well (shooting could be better), that is young and can improve. He's athletic and has good size for a PG. He has a good motor, isn't scared of contact and seems hungry to be a great player.

So because he isn't raw enough, his ceiling isn't as high???

So just finished watching J.T. Thor... this kid could be another Pascal. Good length, smooth athlete, has an okay outside game, good defender. There's some really good players in the second round.
