I like Moses Moody if we're picking in the 5-10 range. He's 18 (turning 19 on May 31).. is a large SG/wing (6'6) and has good analytics. 18th best in college in WS.. and we use that advanced stat a lot. Flynn lead the league in 2020, Delon was always high (2nd or 4th IIRC) in his last two years. Pascal, Fred, Poeltl all had great WS. Even Norm did too. OG did not (his highest was 1.7) but most of that was due to his injury.
Lead his team in WS despite being a freshman. And they got to the big 8. Not a great tourney and is still raw.. but DeMar was as well and he turned into a great pro.

His game is real smooth, and I think they will want to get a wing with their FRP if they don't use it in a trade. I just wonder if they want a guy that can take on some of the ball handling duties with Lowry likely gone next season. They'll basically have FVV and Flynn who has just one season of experience. There's not much else in terms of players that can create behind those two. Moody seems more like a Trent type of catch and shoot player to me but not gonna pretend like I know his game very well.
He's a catch and shoot guy but because he's so young has a lot of room to grow. Stash him in the G-league for season and have him lead that unit as much as possible. Then bring him in to be our Stanley Johnson/Watson off the bench. Hopefully in year 2 or 3 he becomes part of the core. But I just like how young he is and is already putting up really good stats in college.
But really I'll be happy with whoever Masai takes. Just like I was with Flynn.

I don't know much about him either.. I just like his age.. and if we're picking some guy that high up in the draft.. I'd like a project type of guy that can take 3-4 years to get better.

Moody is one of the top defensive prospects. He just can’t really get his own shot yet.Last edited by SkywalkerAC; Sat Apr 17, 2021, 11:07 AM.

deceptively skilled, strong and athletic but at that height a knee injury would take the athletic part of the equation out of it.

6’9 Center in that video you don’t see him going up against bigger opponents which it makes it harder to project. Best case scenario he plays a traditional power forward role or gets enough ball handling skills to play SF. The question will always be if he can handle defending those positions.

His body looks like it still has a ways to go, would really benefit from an NBA training program. I think he projects to be a bit of a Vucevic, he just doesn't have those shoulders and arms yet. He's already 240 lbs at 18 years old, when he gets to a lean 250-255 lbs and he should be able to bang with the "7 footers" no problem.
Big question is the defense, but I like what I see with his lateral and hip mobility, should give him a chance in developing into a big that switch and contest on the perimeter. Not much of a sprinter, but training could help there. His 3-ball isn't there yet either but he still projects as an interesting combination of traditional and modern big.
I still think he could be a solid consolation prize if we fall to #10 or so. Because he's both a centre and "producer" he's one of the few I see on the board that I'd probably pencil in as a starter.
EDIT - checked the internet, he's 208 cm, so 6'10 in socks. Makes more sense.Last edited by SkywalkerAC; Sat Apr 17, 2021, 08:52 PM.

I think teams are sleeping on Filip Petrusev. The former Gonzaga Bulldog left early to play pro in Europe, he's had a good year. Shooting over 40% from 3 on 3 attempts per game. Also very efficient from 2 at over 60%. Filip Petrusev International Stats | Basketball-Reference.com (basketball-reference.com)
Would love this guy in the second round.

I haven't looked at second round targets for them but it is good to hear there are some good pieces out there. Of course, there always are.
