Wish we had more Intel on who the Raps are scouting. All we know so far is that they've looked at Giddey, a forward.

The Raptors leaking that they sent scouts to Australia to watch Giddey play is interesting because this team never leak anything.

My guess is they're eyeing someone in the draft but they're not sure if he's going to be there at 7 so why not hype someone up to boost their stock?

When they saw Giddey how far away were they from the play-in or playoffs? If they made the playoffs they would be picking at 15. So maybe they just wanted to do their homework just in case they got in.

Either way these kids that are going to be drafted by us will be filling out our roster in a BIG way. For example, keon johnson or kuminga in exchange for stanley johnson... point blank period. HUGE UPGRADE.

That's probably what the Pistons thought when they drafted Stanley 8th overall. "He's gonna be a huge upgrade over Caron Butler and Josh Smith". lol.

Good point, but it's not easy to remain unnoticed when you fly to the other side of the world to scout a player. Raps staff are gonna stand out.

I'm sure there is a lot of "gamesmanship" when it comes to throwing off the competition on who you're serious about.

Giddey is considered a top 10 pick and quickly rising up draft boards, we'd be stupid to not be scouting him. I don't think it was a leak, our guys flew to Australia and were at his games.

Just going to go ahead and rule out Moody as an option for the Raps. The more I read up on him and see video, the more he seems like a Trent Jr. clone. Classic catch and shoot, 3&D wing. Anyone see him as a potential all star?

Ya, Moody is looking good... I've watched 5 games of his so far. He has a pure jumper, good court vision, rebounds very well for a guard, and is a good defender. I would say he tends to disappear within the offence, I wish he was a little more alpha on that end. It could have been the system, but I wouldn't say they really featured him and he still put up good numbers. I would also say he in just an average athlete, not overly explosive or bouncy. Overall he is a really solid player.

You guys have to watch Keon Johnson, he's pretty impressive. Great athlete, good court vision (passes out of the double team well), great finisher, good defender. Has a little more aggressiveness to his game but doesn't force things. He needs to extend his range, but he can create his own shot. Which we need.

So far I've watched Moody, Barnes, and Johnson. I would put Johnson ahead of Moody, and I wouldn't touch Barnes with a 10 foot pole.

I've watched 5 Tennessee games so far, and I would draft Springer in the top 10, he's more of a late lottery, or just out of the lottery talent

Barnes is intriguing to me. Zero offense but a good defender, feisty, good vision and ball handling for his size. A lot like Draymond if he can handle small ball C and shoot decently, in time.

Let me know your thoughts on Bouknight when you get around to watching him.

I think you should really watch some of his games, I think your opinion will change. I don't think he has a feel for the game, he almost feels lost at times. He doesn't rebound well and with his length the body he should. His handles are good, his passing is not all that great. He basically has an NBA body, defends alright (not elite), and can dribble.....

The BPA dilemma has gotten a bit real for me after watching Harris the past few nights.

Unless we are willing to trade Fred, what is the game plan for another guard if we draft one?

Fred, Trent Jr, Flynn, Harris and maybe Lowry are taking up the 1 or 2 slots. We could move Trent to the 3 in some line ups, but he's really a 2. If we bring in a Jalen Suggs, Jalen Green or a Keon Johnson (or a guy like Bouknight) who would probably all struggle at the 3, do we bypass them and go for the wing or big instead? Like a Cunningham, Kuminga, Mobley, Barnes, Johnson, Moody type of player?

I don't think this organization trades Fred, at least not this summer. Kyle could be back.. sort of a 50/50 and dependent on him more than the team. Not trading him at the deadline might make it more likely he's back but will still go with 50/50. And we'd want to continue to develop Harris and Flynn. And Trent was our big free agent get but at the deadline.

Keon is 6'5 so might be able to play at the 3, but that would be like slotting Norm at the 3 when he was really best as a 2. Positions are blurred in the NBA, but I hate playing with an undersized back court and we'd have one both on and off the bench going forward if we picked him.

If we're picking #2, and Cade is off the board, things will get really interesting.

I’m two games in on Mobley, and he’s impressive. He just needs to get stronger. He has a hard time battling in the post, and gets pushed around on rebounds.

Other than that he’s mobile, long, good ups, good form on his shot, some nice handles and some nice post moves. He’s also a smart basketball player.... he’s not just a potential guy, he actually has a pretty polished game already.

I’m only 2 games in though....
