Hard to deny it's a pretty perfect time for a rebuild-on-the-fly/retool or whatever it's called these days (been so long). It's a highly competitive year so we don't have to strip down the team to its studs in order to lose. We could probably stay the course, rest Kyle for some games, and wind up in that 8th-9th pick range that often yields well. Or Masai could really pull the trigger (e.g. find Lowry a fancy new home) and we could end up in the top 4.
Still early, but hard to argue the fans are being robbed when you're playing in front of 200 Floridians. Great opportunity to sling shot off of a single season of losing, fingers crossed if that's the way it goes.

Hate to admit it but...I'm basically already "cheering" (i.e. okay with) losses. If we rally back to make the playoffs with a young team that'd be great too, but a top 10 or top 5 pick in a stacked draft wouldn't be so bad either. If we play our cards right, could be our Tim Duncan moment.
...ALL ABOARD!!!

The mighty GSW sucked last year too.
It happens even to the best of them.
Eye on the prize- Cade, Mobley, Jalen, Suggs, Kuminga.Last edited by Kagemusha; Mon Jan 11, 2021, 07:38 AM.

There's no shame in that.

We suck because we have a pretty average roster as far as the post season goes.
Big difference.
We went from winning a chip to valiantly defending it but falling well short to hoping for an elite FA saviour this off season to now hoping we suck enough to draft a guy that will eventually be elite.....what the hell happened?
Dent in Masai's armor.

We've been competitive for a while.
Lakers and Celtics fans used to ask the same WTH happened for a long time too.

Suggs. If we trade Lowry, slots in as a 6'4 combo guard alongside FVV.

The key is having a plan to bounce back out of the lotto after one solitary year. You gotta do it Spurs-Duncan style. Single season reset at just the right time.
I think Masai has us primed to do exactly that. We're super cap-flexible. We still have young, winning players with good habits, but you seehat losing a couple of vets (Serge/Marc) can do. We've got to be too good for a top 5 pick as currently composed, but this could could be the year where Nurse just has to experiment with some very young lineups.
And those reps will pay off for the young guys, IF we can bounce back to winning next season.

Never too early for a draft thread!
But we shouldn't waste our time posting guys projected to go in the lottery unless we are hoping for an OG-esque slip to where we will draft (20+).
