Where are you getting the "FVV for Indiana's two best players" thing? If Pascal is so bad how are we getting KAT with him? This is delusional.
Just like them Vleet has shown regression=high usage/role. However Boucher is going the opposite way (appreciating asset). The 2 SRPs are sweeteners. Pacers coach ex Raptor coach Bjorkgren is very familiar of Van Vleet’s game.
Both KAT and Siakam require a change. Siakam dont think is happy with Nurse, rift is there. Never said Siakam is “so badâ€, he has shown regression.

Well that would make a lot of sense then if Lowry walks, no? Masai does right by him to let him go where he wants, and we get enough cap space to sign a C and resign Trent. Say Trent gets signed at something around $15 M per, what would we have left for everything else?
Let's say we can get Holmes for $12M (which might be low, hard to say). We'll have about $6M to shore up our bench (since we'll have about $18M total if Lowry walks). We also get an exception called the room mid-level.. which is about $4-5M.
So this is sort of what I would expect:
- We let Lowry walk to the team of his choice
- We sign Holmes for $12M with 5% raises each year.. ($52M/4yrs for example)
- We sign a bench piece for the rest of our cap space (about $6M)
- We sign a bench piece with our room MLE (about $4.7M)
- We sign Trent Jr for something like $15M/yr (although we can give him anything as long as we are below the tax)
- We sign our FRP
We'll also have 2 SRP's.
Boucher's contract can also be waived.. giving us an additional $7M in cap space. But I'd prefer to keep him, or use him in a trade if we had to.
I'd like to have a decent bench big for that room mid-level (like Kanter, Birch, Biyombo).. and maybe a wing player for that $6M. You won't get much for $6M though. Alec Burks and Ish Smith for example makes this much right now.
Depending on who we draft, we could just give most of that remaining $6M to Holmes to ensure we don't lose out in free agency.
But yes, it all depends on Kyle Lowry. If he comes back our options are more limited. If we sign and trade him and get a contract or two back then we'll also be limited. The other option we can do is guarantee Baynes' contract and then trade him with a future FRP for someone else too. So trades can still happen as we have flexibility there too.

The ideal situation is that you don't give Trent Jr his full contract until all other free agents are signed. So his deal should be the last one we sign. Of course he's an RFA so one team can sign him to offer sheet.. and we only have 2 days to match that.. so we'd have to do all the signings before those 2 days are up.

Not sure where that gets them but I don't see them giving up on Siakam/FVV/OG after one year. In any case, will definitely be more interesting than the next few weeks.

I gotta put Davion Mitchell in my top 10 now. He's really caught my attention. He's like a Lillard x Donovan Mitchell hybrid but a better defender. I know people will say, 'he's already 22 and will turn 23 later this year yada yada yada' So? Dame Lillard was 22 when the Blazers drafted him. Jordan was 21 when the Bulls drafted him. Bird was 23 etc.
Jalen Green is still my guy if we're drafting in the top 3(unlikely). But if we're drafting in the 6-10 range, i gotta go with Mitchell #1. Keon #2, Kai Jones #3, Ziaire #4.
If we're picking in the mid 1st round(where i think they'll be drafting), well.....pray one of those guys drop to us.Mamba Mentality

“His upside in the league is definitely a Donovan Mitchell-type of player who plays way better defense,†Peek reported.
On the surface, Mitchell fits the mould of a Raptors prospect. He's an undersized guard with multiple years of college experience. If he is the best player available on Toronto's board when it's time to make a pick, it wouldn't be a shock if the Raptors tabbed the reigning NCAA champion, but it probably wouldn't be the best fit from a roster construction point of view.

Lowry was the most coveted player at the trade deadline. In the eyes of a win-now team he's probably the most valuable player on our roster. Word is that the asking price for him at the deadline was quite high, and none of the offers was deemed good enough.
So the plan now is to let him walk for nothing in free agency so we can sign.....Richaun Holmes? I know that's a position of need but I'd prefer if that was not the case. If that's the alternative I would have preferred the Duncan Robinson + 1rp package that was floated at the deadline. Robinson (or one of the Philly prospects that was offered) would be a more impactful player and the extra 1rp could be either used for a C or combined with our own pick to move higher on the draft. Our pick itself would also have been higher, since without Lowry for the rest of this season we would be worse.
I know it's easier said than done but I hope they work out a SnT for Lowry. Like others mentioned before, it could be a re-iteration of the Rudy Gay trade, which refilled the pantry and kicked started a winning era with renewed depth. We need that again now.

Miami can outright sign Lowry (depending on what Lowry is asking, and if they part ways with Depo) all the other contenders would need us to facilitate a sign and trade.
Hopefully we get something back for him, even it’s a good bench big. Obviously we don’t want to take too much salary back.
