Sengun is not the next Jokic. We don't need to draft a C in the 1st round. The Raptors are already set in that position.
As for Corey Kispert, just watch Joe Harris play. That's Corey Kispert.

what do you think about kuminga vs barnes?
I think I like Barnes fit better for the Raps and his potential excites me a bit more, but Kuminga is probably the better prospect.

Kuminga could be a star 3, but I don't think I like him that much as a small 4, but star 3s can win chips and he's reasonably well-rounded, so he's probably the better prospect. Barnes could be a star 4, which is an underrated position, that can also defend at the 3 and the 5, and could potentially be a catalyst right off the bat.

Why not draft the best available player.

Barnes,
Kai Jones MAYBE - seems to be a sort of myles turner type - if you want a project
How good is Corey Kispert?
I can see Jalen Johnsn being decent if we end up some how turning those two picks in the second round for a higher pick ... he would be someone i'd pick up later.
Bouknight seems to be good but I don't know. His playmaking seems to be lacking which is desperately needed on this team especially if lowry goes.
Joshua Giddey
I can see us grabbing Sengun as well with a second rounder.
If we are top 4.. take the BPA. If its you do one of two things. Either you grab cade OR you trade back with Orlando for the 3/4 and 10 pick. I'd keep Cade but its a tough tough call. If you some how jump both orlando's picks and are top 4 and Orlando has two top 10 its still a maybe trading back.
if you are top 4 you take Cade/Mobley/Suggs/Kuminga/Green in that order.
Bouknight might end up being a complete flop but his game just looks so smooth. Reminds me of Kemba but with a lot more length. He's not known for his defense though so that could be a big issue for Raps.
Raps need a star. If they get the first pick they're taking Cade or Green. If Suggs measures 6'3"+ they take a hard look at him as well.
You better shoot like KD if you're a C as skinny as Mobley and expect to go in the top 4. Don't see Raps picking him. Kuminga is a big risk, big reward type of player. He could end up no better than MKG.

I like Barnes as well but he looks to be a bit of a project and Raps aren't rebuilding. Not super high on Kai Jones and he's going to need even more time to develop. Jalen Johnson is interesting but not a lot of tape on him having decided to sit out the season. Great size and skill set seems to be there.

I don't know everyone seems high on the knight kid but I haven't heard much. Mobley is being compared ALOT to BOSH which would be the perfect center for this team too. I agree with you on Kuminga but if you draft that high.

2. We are not set at C. Khem is great as a backup center; right now we're mostly playing tanking bad teams and resting good teams so his effect is exaggerated, and the likelihood of Kyle being gone next year will sting him a little because Kyle is clearly looking for him. Obviously we want to resign him, because a good backup C is a good thing to have, but we most likely need a proper starter.
3. Joe Harris is currently making $17m a year with the Nets because Joe Harris - or Joe Ingles (12 a year with the Utah Jazz) or Jae Crowder (10m a year with the Suns) - is the sort of player everybody wants on their team, a rangy 3-and-D wing who contributes to any team no matter what. Kispert might not go top 10 because he didn't have a great March Madness, but whatever team gets him will be perfectly happy with him - ditto Franz Wagner, who is basically the exact same player. They won't be superstars, but they'll be great, reliable starters.

1. I agree that Sengun isn't a next-Jokic or next-Dirk or anything like that. He's fine: a decent Euro center (albeit slightly undersized at 6'10") who can work.

Birch vs Gobert - 17/10/6
Those are two of the best C in the league. And neither the Jazz or the Nuggets are tanking bad teams.
Last night he outplayed Zubac, the same player who a lot of people here wanted to trade Lowry for.
The Raptors are fine with Birch as the starting C. I'm also fine with Gillespie as the backup.
2. You're right about Kispert. A lot of teams would love to have a player like that. I'm talking about the Raptors pick though which is looking more and more that it's going to be in the top 10. I'm not drafting a player like Kispert in the top 10. No way.

Moses Moody has a shot already, rebounds very well for a guard, 6’6 with a 7’ wingspan and has a body that can fill out. He’s already a good defender with good lateral movement. He has to improve his handle to be a better creator. Okay passer so far.
I think those skills are easier to improve than most. He doesn’t look uncoordinated or stiff, so should be time in the gym
Really at 7-10 you want a kid that’s gym rat. I think any of the players we are discussing are good options if they have the work ethic of DeMar or guys like him.
