Suggs can be the next Brandon Roy or Damian liard but in my eyes from a team building perspective he is not the guy I want to be my franchise player.
if we didn’t have Fred sure but I don’t see too many times winning in the playoffs with combo guards in their back court. Damian has yet to make a finals same with Mitchell from Utah.
maybe I am just too old school

From what I see he gets to where he wants to get to on the floor I seen Suggs shut down for periods of timeLast edited by MixxAOR; Fri Jul 9, 2021, 12:53 PM.Only one thing matters: We The Champs.

Why did Wall and Beal fail to find success? They were supposed to the perfect pairing of shooting and getting to the rim, but those guys had qualities like being selfish and egotistical (each thinking they were the best player on the team) that wouldn't allow their games to mesh. You won't have that problem with Fred and I doubt with Suggs as well if you look at that Gonzaga team.

There's no reason why a back court of Suggs and FVV wouldn't work. Both are smart, tough players that are strong defenders, can create for teammates and can play off ball.

name a championship team with a back court that small?
if u draft he there better be a plan?
and to answer your question about wall and Beal …wall is a combo guard and their best Center was nene another failed experimentLast edited by grindhouse; Fri Jul 9, 2021, 01:34 PM.

wow. From what I saw that kid can't create for himself and doesn't have the athleticism to finish at the rim. Shoots set shots from three. Doesn't elevate on his jump shots. Has no midrange game. Oh and has no defense. Not even one bit of defense. Doesn't even go into defensive stance. OG and Siakam would tear his ass on both ends of the floor.

Wall is not a point guard … chris Paul is a point guard, rafer alston is a point guard, chancey billups on Detroit was a point guard. Rondo is a point guard.Kenny Anderson is a point guard.
in this draft davion Mitchell is a point guard. Maybe Barnes , maybe giddey if they can defend the positions

also you can’t compare Fred Suggs combo to 2 hall of famers. Lowry will not even be a hall of famer when it’s all said and done.
that’s super high expectations of SuggsLast edited by grindhouse; Fri Jul 9, 2021, 01:47 PM.

I seem to recall someone insisting, insisting, that the Raps would make playoffs and possibly not even need the play-in this past season, even when many of us thought the tank was the proper call. I think you're now overcorrecting. This was a nightmare season, but that doesn't make our players bad or our position even particularly bad; there were numerous factors which likely won't duplicate themselves next season that made us have so much trouble, we still have multiple very talented players and a top five coach, and we'll be improving some of the factors that gave us such trouble (no home games, no proper center) almost immediately this year. We'll also be adding more talent via our draft pick and the offseason.
The Raps this year are a playoff team. Not likely to be a contender, not this year. But definitely a playoff team that will improve.
But anyway, their best player, Kyle Lowry is likely not going to be here next year. So the offense will revolve around FVV and Siakam. So yeah....lol. Can they make the playoffs next year? yes because they're in the East. Are they a contender? no. Are they in the same situation as the Warriors? no. So why not trade your current best player(Siakam) and acquire some assets so you can accelerate your rebuild or retool or whatever you call this? because everyone know that the Raptors are not going to win anything with Siakam as their best player.Mamba Mentality
