Even though Blake's idea was a lottery protected pick.. I think it might take a top 10 protected pick since that's what Dallas gave up for Luka. And I only do this trade if Kyle is locked up - which is not possible since it would be a draft day trade.
I like the two guards more than Mobley and I don't want to give up a pick when we may be a mediocre team that could miss the playoffs or have to use the play-in to get in. So I'm a no on this deal personally.
But I could see the Raps liking Mobley enough to do it.. and I could see Houston being smart enough to do this too so that they can get multiple assets for their pick, yet still get a great player at #4.

If the guy you want is going to go 5th, there's absolutely no issue with moving down from 4th. If you are sitting 4th in a 4 player draft... That said, on draft day if Masai and Bobby want to trade down and their guy is still there, more power to them, because of said trust, but they will be testing that trust with a move like that.

Actually, the Raptors literally drafted Jamison, knowing GSW wanted him, and then turned and traded him to GSW for the next pick, with literally no other assets coming their way (a little cash), just so they could get Carter on a cheaper rookie scale salary. As a fan I would be pissed they screwed around like that when they could have just taken Carter 4th (and would in retrospect add to the glorious tradition of awesome 4th overall picks for the Raptors they will soon add to).

Still, it would take major cajones (or stupidity) to pass on "our guy" and then have to trust another front office to follow through on a handshake deal. Just try to imagine the butterfly effect of the Raptors drafting Jamison instead of VC. In hindsight, that draft move by Grunwald was crazy.

1 Cade
2 green (whether we trade up or not )
3 Mobley
4 kaminga
5 sengun
6 mitchell
7 barnes
8 giddey
9 bouknight
10 moody
11 Suggs
12 Keon johnson
13 Kai jones
that’s all I got, someone is going to take segun early and giddey early. Bouknight shooting looks wet. Suggs first combo guard off the board. Kai Jones first Center off the board.

I think OG and Siakam are a great pairing. Siakam has to work on his three point shooting, he has certainly fell off a bit. If he can at least get back to 35-36%, our front court will be a dangerous one.
Add one of Suggs, Green or Mobley and I think we are headed in the right direction. I prefer the guards, as they tend to have the most impact. We are trending up for sure.
