Not sure if it's really the case, but I did notice a lot of Barnes passing highlights are coming in transition. Half-court creation requires another level of timing, craftiness and savvy, like a Luka or Lowry. Cade has a lot more of that than Barnes.

But even with that said, he's not dropping from mocks. Probably because they see some Giannis in his game?
Or, in a draft with few first round worthy bigs, he stands out? I honestly don't get it. If he was taller, maybe.

It doesn't appear Jalen Green expects to fall past the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NBA draft.
ESPN's Jonathan Givony and Adrian Wojnarowski reported Green will work out for the Detroit Pistons, who have the top overall selection. He's also reportedly "currently only planning on conducting one additional workout" with the Houston Rockets, who follow Detroit in the draft.
Only one thing matters: We The Champs.

All things considered, unless you see a Cleveland trade for Sexton, I think the top 4 order is locked: Cade to the Pistons, Green to the Rockets, Mobley to the Cavs and Suggs to us."My biggest concern as a coach is to not confuse winning with progress." - Steve Kerr
"If it's unacceptable in defeat, it's unacceptable in victory." - Jeff Van Gundy

Yeah, I can totally see the fascination with Barnes.
Barnes with a reliable 3-pt shot would look a lot like a bigger version of Kawhi....with playmaking. A 2-way monster. That's tantalizing. That's the type of guy that wins you championships. But without that 3-pt shot, even a lot of his playmaking space would be taken away. And like you said.... if you're picking 4th, can you really take a chance that you might end up with the next Stanley Johnson?
Picking 4th was supposed to be a no-brainer. Pick whoever falls from Cade/Suggs/Mobley/Green... right?
Barnes absolutely sucks on offense. He's an extremely shitty rebounder for his size as well, something you guys never bother mentioning but he has less than half the rebounds per game of any stupid comparison you throw up. Barnes is going to have to play PF in the NBA and he doesn't rebound well enough for that.
Barnes is a very far less talented Ben Simmons. He's Simmons if he was significantly worse at everything. At least Simmons is a good rebounder.
