What in the holy fuck. Some of you guys are absolutely insane. Barnes is nothing like Kawhi. Not At All.
Barnes absolutely sucks on offense. He's an extremely shitty rebounder for his size as well, something you guys never bother mentioning but he has less than half the rebounds per game of any stupid comparison you throw up. Barnes is going to have to play PF in the NBA and he doesn't rebound well enough for that.
Barnes is a very far less talented Ben Simmons. He's Simmons if he was significantly worse at everything. At least Simmons is a good rebounder.
LOL yeah I don't know what golden is on ..... first off Kawhi improved his playmaking while on the raptors and continued on the clippers. So saying a playmaking kawhi is... just saying he will be kawhi....
Secondly just no. He needs to work so hard to become Kawhi. Kawhi when he is at his peak is basically jordan level on offense. He is likely the best player who will dawn the raptors jersey for MANY years regardless of who comes on through or even if we do win another chip. HE IS THAT GOOD. Injury prone but THAT good.
Your assessment on Barnes is likely correct because Ben came into the league jumping out of the damn gym. Barnes will do well becuase he is a hard worker and has a good attitude but he will have a lot of issues.
It is going back down to the original prediction of Suggs/Mobley. Likely Suggs but I think the front office wants Mobley honestly. So now the question becomes can we give up enough to move up a spot to grab the Cavs pick? Again I think its possible. That guarantees your guy.
Playmaking does not mean you can create your own shot.
Stanley Johnson and RHJ were used as ballhandlers here, they had that toolset, it was just not very useful because if you are not a threat to score you can't use that skill to any actual advantage.
High risk, high reward in the top 4 this year makes no sense because there are 4 guys who are low risk, high reward.
He was one of if not the primary ball handler for his team and you don't think that is a great indicator he has the potential to create offense for himself. The whole point of drafting Barnes is to forecast what he is capable of developing into.
Suggs on this team is the favorite for ROY. He's going to be awesome out of the gate and he will get heavy minutes here as our starting PG next to FVV. You guys suggesting trading up for Mobley are way undervaluing Suggs. There is a very very good chance he ends up the best player from this draft class. He's already a complete player. The biggest ding I've seen on him is his 33% 3PT shooting could be better. Sure, it could, but 33% from 3 is already pretty damn good. He's an elite defender, he can score at every level, he has the it factor where he sees plays happening well before they do. I'm going to be happy as a pig in shit if we end up with Suggs and you guys should be too.

We're talking about the same Scottie Barnes right? Played less than 24 minutes a game mostly off the bench for most of the year?
Pardon me if I don't project him to be able to generate his own shot against NBA defences based on him managing to post a relatively inefficient 10 PPG off the bench in college.
His team was largely a disaster offensively, so he was indeed one of their key ball handlers and their leader in assists. But no, being a good assist guy does not mean you can project a player to be able to create their own shot (or vice versa, a critique of Jalen Green). Like, where was Jose Calderon breaking ankles and dropping 30 PPG?

I absolutely adore Mobley as a prospect but I agree - no trading up. Any of the top 4 would be awesome. Suggs has every chance to be that missing piece perimeter playmaker and dynamic rim pressuring scorer we are lacking.
Yes!!! This means they don’t want to draft Suggs !!!!
raptors are sitting watching the suns and saying do we want this to be us? Sure you can win but it’s so much harder without size.

I'm positive Barnes fans did not watch him at all this year, especially in the NCAA Tournament. When shit mattered Barnes disappeared.
He took a whopping 2 FG attempts in 2 out of their 3 NCAA tournament games. He took 3 3PT shots out of 3 games and missed all of them. He scored 4, 6 and 8 points in those 3 games, for a not so impressive 6 points per game.
But what about his playmaking? Against UNC Greensborough (which is a very shitty team) he had 1 assist and 5 turnovers in 26 minutes.
He played better against Colorado but not much, amassing a whopping 1 rebound to go along with 5 assists and 3 turnovers.
Then against Michigan where they really needed him and gave him lots of shots, he went 4-11 FG, 1 reb, 3 ast, 3 TO, and 4 PF.
Barnes does not have the it factor, he is not a natural winner, and he vastly underperformed next to his peers in this draft. For the life of me I do not understand the attraction to Barnes. He is going to make some GM lose their job in a few years.

Literally nothing about this says they don't want Suggs. What the hell are you smoking?
It says they worked out Barnes and they're having trouble getting Green in for a workout.
Raptors needed to workout Barnes in case some trade opportunity comes up where we get a major piece to move back. I suspect we have worked out most of the top 15 in this draft, not to mention a shit ton of late 1st, 2nd rounders, and UDFA types.

How does that mean that? Lol. I shocked they haven’t had Suggs in yet but that doesn’t mean they don’t want him.
I relish negativity and disappointment. It is not healthy. Somebody buy me a pony.

Exactly. There’s still like 9 days left. We have time to get these guys in. They are definitely talking about Green because supposedly he only wants to work out for Detroit and the Rockets. Cade has also made it clear he’s only seeing one team and that’s Detroit. So they’re probably talking about those two and maybe even Mobley at this point because he supposedly had such a great workout with Cleveland and they like him. But they’ll probably get Suggs and Mobley in soon.
