They're laughing at Sixers and Heat on Brooklyn Nets subreddit

What's ironic is that by teams not trading for Kyle, we are accidentally helping fvck Brooklyn get an easier path to the championship.

that was the 2014 draft season too...(cited an example on another thread of that draft year that was so overhyped)

        Bruno got picked at 20
        Hood at 23
        Capela at 25

        Lol

        • The survivors of the 2nd round of that draft year out of 30 teams:

          Joe Harris - 33rd
          Dinwiddie - 38
          Jeremi Grant - 39
          GR3 - 40

          then wait for it
          Jokic - 41st

          Dwight Powell - 45

The wrong Alphabet who is still tapping the hard wood every time his brother shooting freethrows was picked at 51

          Raptors:
          Bruno - 1st round at 20
De Andre Daniels - 2nd round at 37

If this ain’t a crapshoot....we would have twin towers in Jokic and Capela with one as the possible future MVP

He might help too much and screw our draft position

              • I had no interest in trading for Drummond and doubt he would really improve much for us but if he’s available for the minimum as a buyout, yeah, why not. Although would be good to bring up some 905 guys on minimum deals too.

                • I really doubt Masai/Bobby will get us a center now. I think they want to roll the dice with this team, and are quite okay if they slip in the standings. This is a lost year for them and are packing it in. Will let the team do what they can without some big weapons.

Although if Olynyk does get bought out, they might swing for him since he's Canadian and will want to do him a solid. Get the Nurse/Olynyk pair a little practice time for Team Canada (assuming we make the Olympics which is no sure thing).

The mistake was trading for Lou Williams and Bebe for Salmons. By getting Bebe we no longer needed a center. Capela would have been nice, and could have helped us against Lebronto.. instead of giving up like 10 points in 2 minutes in a pretty important game.

I don't really listen to what other people say. I have my own opinion. I know what I saw from Rondo last year in the bubble. Rondo has another gear that he can go to in the playoffs. And all the Clippers really need from him is bring leadership and facilitate the offense, they don't need him to be Chris Paul.
OK so you haven't watched Rondo this season?

He's 34 now and falling off a fucking cliff, he sucks big time. Just objectively bad at everything. At least Lou Williams gives you reliable 3PT shooting. Rondo isn't giving you shit.

If the Clippers win in the playoffs it will be because Kawhi went god mode, not because of anything Rondo is doing. The West is too tough for that and I expect they'll go down in round 2 of the playoffs.

                      • Regarding the Lakers trade rumors. I highly doubt we were ever willing to accept any Lakers offer, whether it included THT or not. They were 100% a leverage play to add in another bidder to try and get Miami to fold on Herro or Philly to throw in picks.

Apparently we could have gotten more for Lowry if we were willing to deal him to the fringe playoff teams but we didn't wanna do him dirty like that and let him pick the teams he was willing to go to. For Kyle I'm totally fine with that, he's earned a no trade clause even if we don't have it in the contract.

First of all, I doubt that and it wasn't reported anywhere with credibility or otherwise that I saw. It as always Miami, Philly and lakers thrown in as a last minute distraction. But if there were deals for more return to a fringe team, then that's another mistake on Masai/Bobby's part. All things being equal, you do your best to send Kyle to a real contender but after that, the best deal for the team rules the day. Either they were also crap offers or you move him with thanks and a future standing O.

no one judges rondo on his regular season performance since he's fallen off a cliff several times now and come back as a monster in the playoffs after everyone assumed he was completely washed, including last year, with NO, and with chicago (before he got hurt).

lou williams is the complete opposite, puts up big numbers in the regular season but destroys his team in the playoffs because he still plays defence like it's a pick up game

                            • Bobby Webster was just on the fan590 and shot down any romanticized notion that Kyle was in any negotiations or discussions in any way whatsoever on draft day. He said he shot him a text yesterday morning (specifically saying because it was his birthday) and that was it. He said it would be impossible to keep him up to speed as to what team was closer (regardless of it being anyone's "preferred" destination) on any sort of updating basis. I'm sure they told him they'd put him in the best situation if they could based on the offers but all they confirmed was they wanted to be the ones to reach him in the event of any deal reached, before some member of the media/mad tweeters did.

The whole idea that they wouldn't move Kyle in a good trade if he didn't want to go or could choose only where he wanted to go or he was some big part of the discussions/negotiations on trade deadline day? Nahhhhhh.....

                              That was it.

I get the impression that both Lowry and management preferred he stayed in Toronto but agreed that they would all accept a trade if it was to a good situation and got a good return for the organization. That left the Raptors in a position to establish a bottom line and stick to it, as opposed to a team like Houston where Oladipo wasn't staying and they needed to get something for him.

I highly doubt that there were a lot of suitors for Lowry as he only made sense for a a select group of teams and only a few of those had the wherewithal to make anything happen.
