  • Also... what about Powell for Lonzo Ball?

Raps are clearly all in on building around FVV. If that’s the case, then long term you need to pair him with a true PG with size to defend bigger SGs. Ball has improved his 3-pt shot, so he’s intriguing again as a prospect.

Ball would be a much better option than Drummond.

Except he can’t play center. Lol.

        • To Raps: Adams, Lonzo, Redick
          To Pels: Lowry, Powell, Baynes

          • Three team:

Toronto: Drummond, 2RP from Cleveland, 1RP from GSW.
            Cleveland: Wiggins
            Warriors: Lowry

Send Wiggins to the team that drafted him. Get us draft capital for Lowry with Drummond. GSW gets a win now player on an expiring contract to help them in their playoff chase out west.

Move Norm up as a starter permanently.

Lowry, if traded, would end up on a 3rd team and we'd move the assets to Cleveland. But even then we have to look at what the Cavs sent to Detroit for Drummond in the first place. It was Brandon Knight, John Henson and a 2023 second round pick.

It was an ugly trade of expiring contracts and a throwaway pick. Drummond never really improved his market. If anything it should be lower since he's an expiring contract and could leave in free agency.

So having to give up someone like Norm or even Lowry (to a third team say) would be a bad move, unless we can get better assets. Drummond isn't worth dismantling the team for.
A third team would be my guess as well, but curious there is no mention of who it is. Hope we can get an frp from it if it is Lowry leaving.

Dont think theyd trade their 2020 first pick for Norm

                • Time for Masai to show he's still got it....and announce his own new contract.

Lonzo isnt a true pg in the halfcourt though. Hes abysmal scoring in the PnR. Hes got god tier vision and excels in full court but hes kinda more of a Bembry role in the half court, maybe a good catch and shoot guy and makes the next play well. I still really like him, but if you want him to cover for FVV youll be pulling your hair out.

That being said, FVV & Lonzo could make a nice backcourt - just doesnt put us in a much different place than we are now imo

Id be pretty excited if we manage to get Drummond and Ball. Defensive potential skyrockets and I think you could make a good enough offense. I hear the concerns about both guys, but you can probably get both at a discount. Both guys have elite qualities which fit in well with everything Nurse and co build a playstyle around, thats worth a gamble. If it doesnt work they are expiring anyways - high potential with relatively low risk so long as you keep most of your picks.

                    • Interesting, looks like Blake Griffin will not be playing until Detroit figures out what to do with him. Sounds like he will be on the move soon as well.

I can't see any team trading for his contract.. a buyout seems more likely.. and then he's really a free agent and can go anywhere. He'd be a good get for the vet minimum.. I could see the Nets grabbing him.

Biggest problem with Drummond is that he can’t control himself on offense. He thinks he’s a guard and tries these ridiculous crossovers and skill stuff that never works. If he could be happy with like 15% USG, lob dunks and put backs, he would fit in just fine.... but he won’t.
Good coaching and teammates will fix that

                              • Any chance this is just Cavs leaking false news to get other potential suitors to bid? I don't see the fit...you'd have to go back to the days of Biyombo for the last time Raps had a one dimensional, specialist type at C.
