The fact it's coming down to the wire like this mean anything? I mean if it was a slam dunk he was opting out he would have done so by now. Probably means it's not clear cut at all that his market value is above what he made last year. Maybe he's better off opting in and being an unrestricted free agent next year when there is more clarity on cap spikes etc.

I asked that question yesterday, but according to Dan it's perfectly normal to wait until the end to opt in or out. I prefer speculating it may mean something though.

Too many Raptors had bad years last year. And that's going to all cost them some money this summer. Gary was probably thinking over $20M easy. But now, I'm not sure. He's essentially Malik Monk who is being paid the full mid level (about $10M a year).

Yep, teams may be thinking they can get a similar player at the MLE so why pay Trent $20M?
