Norm probably would have developed a lot faster under Nurse than Casey. Nurse believes in a very long leash. Everything is forward looking. Casey always has tunnel vision on the game at hand.
Not sure about that. Norm only broke when he was put in the starting lineup, and he was clearly pegged as a bench guy under Nurse, unless there were injuries; hence, the inconsistency. After Green left, the choice was basically between Fred and Norm as starting SG.... and Nurse went with FVV. The logical choice would have been to have FVV elevate the bench as the backup PG, but Fred was abysmal in that role after the one breakout year bench mob season (2017-18), with Pascal, Jakob & Delon.

Nurse wouldn't have made him a starter right away but I think he would have gotten a lot more minutes and opportunities. Casey had an infatuation with old shitty journeyman players.

      • Glad that he is back ….

was more rusty vs. the Bucks

Still rusty but a little lesser vs. the Wizards

he still has to find his rhythm after a few games out

        but Defensively, he is balling

Can't forget the days when we were going on about why Casey was playing Salmons over Ross.

              • Really good game from GTJ. Almost all his threes were catch and shoot (and all his made ones were), as they should be, and he created a bunch of pull up midrangers when the bench looks needed bailing out. Perfect, exactly what they need from him.

                • What would have happened to this 23 year old psyche if Nurse preferred to start an oft-injured Birch from the very beginning of the season over this guy?

I mean having him start when Birch is down then yank him back to come off the bench to accommodate Birch.

thank god Nick Nurse for coaching this team vs. a number cruncher lol

                  • 2nd straight 32 point game. Has Trent become consistent?

If we plan on using him in a trade he's peaking at the right time.

yeah, creating his own shot but also very reliable outlet for when Siakam is doubled. Finding consistency and a great fit on his current role. On top of the efficient, abundant buckets, the defence continues to be very disruptive; he's thriving when the team gets into that aggressive trapping/high doubles in the perimeter. To me he's a keeper, fits the team timeline perfectly, If he's involved in trade the return better be high. Just turned 23.

off season may end up being the best time to do this but if his contract was longer i'd argue in favor of keeping him.

                          Keep him.
He can be a DeMar lite on offense,
                          BUT can defend.

Yeah I would too but GTJ is a good shooter and there is going to be a bidding war that would drive up his price considerably. Not to mention FVV will also be a free agent and judging his trajectory, will at that point commend something like max or close to max money so that is something to consider.

What AAV would you have paid to get more years?
