As usual, the NBA doesn't care what's fair or shows integrity. They care about large markets, super teams and TV ratings. I don't know why about 1/3 of the teams have any fans or ratings whatsoever unless you're just watching to see stars on other teams....

We are definitely part of that 1/3rd. You watch because you just might trade for a superstar and win it all. Milwaukee is a much smaller market than us and they could win it all this year. The opposite end of the spectrum you've got the Knicks who have every advantage in the world but have sucked for decades despite that.

Jalen rose had a very simple, effective idea re: buyout market. Make the buyout deadline the same day as the trade deadline. It wouldn't fix everything but its BS that all the mid market teams have to get their ducks in order and finalize their roster, and then the week after the 3 best super teams come and scoop up the leftovers and a small fraction of their original salary.

great for the player, great for the super team, awful for the underdogs and the competitive integrity.
