Who had the Raps finishing below the Knicks, Hawks, Hornets, Pacers, Wiz and Bulls in the pool?
Finishing over just 3 truly horrible teams?
We get a chip (which seems like eons ago now) while JV meets DeMar in a play-in...

With a win Indy bows out of the Panzer Process.
The Pellys gave it their all but Memphis has more to play for. Still its another game off the schedule and the Raps can elimate the Pellys tonight with the junior varsity suiting up against the Clippers.

The Nets Take the Show to Chicago. The Bulls still have a mathmatical chance at the play in and with nothing to lose will put up an effort tonight against the Nets. The Nets are in a fight for 2nd with the Bucks for homecourt in round 2 if it gets that far. It will be competitive.
Sacto hosts OKC . OKC continues to roll out all their first and second year guys who give it their all but they are just over matched every time out. OKC is tied for 2nd last right now with 21 wins... The intent here is to lose out. and enter into what could be a 4 way tie for 2nd last place. Sacto is on a roll and should take this one.
FWIW.. watched a fair bit of the Kings down the tank stretch as they are the late game.... Rashaun Holmes is not a significant upgrade over Birch. They are pretty much the same player. Birch does hit the odd 3. Holmes won't. Birch is listed at 6'9" and 235 and Holmes at 6'10" 235. Its almost the same guy.
Raps host the Clips The Raps are sitting 4 of their 5 starters tonight. The Clips can't go any higher than 3rd in the West. Depending on who they want to match up with the Clips may or may not dress their varsity. A raps loss tonight and a kings win will eliminate both the KIngs and Pellys.
Go Bulls
Go Kings
PLAY IN DERBY OUT WEST
Its karma that the Lakers are in a dogfight out west. At present they look to have 7th sewn up but if Portland stumbles they could move out of the play in tourney to 6th. Standing in their way is the Julius Randle revenge game tonight. A win by the Knicks who need it for their quest for homecourt in round 1 sets up what could be an NBA nightmare. A play in game between the Warriors and Lakers. Anything can happen in a one game play in.
If the Warriors get an all world game from Curry and push the Lakers to another one and done both upper and lower sphincters will tighten in LA and the league office as the invincible Lakers could be in the lottery.
.
GO KNICKS !!There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

For the Lakers to finish in the top 6, they need to go 3-0 and they need the Mavs or the Blazers to finish 0-3. The Mavs schedule is buttery soft so that's not happening. But the Blazers last 3 games? Jazz, Suns, Nuggets.
I think finishing 7th is what's best for the Lakers though.Mamba Mentality

love reading all these but you might have to clean this part up. Not sure how a kings win would eliminate the kings but if there is a franchise that could do that, it’s the Kangz.

The collar is getting even tighter in LA.
It is possible the Lakers "eat the canvas" in boxing parlance and miss out on this years playoffs.
A loss to the Warriors then a one gamer against one of the Grizz or Spurs would be epic.
Hard to see Lebron losing two in a row... but ... if they do........ the questions about the play in tourney will be widely derided by the LA media.

I think LA beats GSW.. retains the 7 seed, and takes out the Suns in the first round. It was a regular season game near the end of this crappy season, but the Suns were outmatched against the Lakers a few games back. That was a test, and the Suns failed.
I don't want this to happen, but I think it will. Lebron finds a way in the playoffs.

And Lebron... even though he feels great and is practicing... is going to sit this one out tonight vs the Knicks per Woj.

Raps lose, Kings win, Bulls lose - so the Pelicans and Kings are eliminated from the race for 7th lottery position, and the tragic number to be beneath the Bulls is 2 with three games left for each to play, including the one where we play each other. With luck, we wrap this up Thursday night and then we can let the starters play again and just win a couple and feel better.
