Got me also thinking that it is not inconceivable that the Raptors may inquire about KAT or those players from Indiana (Brogdon/ Sabonis or Turner)

My previous trade proposal was KAT for Siakam straight up

Van Vleet/ Boucher/ 2 SRPs for Brogdon and Sabonis.

I always believed that OG is the only untouchable which seem to be that way.

The smoke about Raptors trying to acquire a significant player or players led me to think that they are not just staying status quo ESPECIALLY with Lowry being gone.

Honestly, it's looking like Beal will take a godfather offer to get, and here's my hot take: he's not worth a godfather offer. Beal is the archetypal #2 option. We don't need a #2 option.

A no.2 option Beal paired with a no.2 option Siakam is way way better that what we already have (no.2 option Siakam paired with a no.2 option Van Vleet).

At that time, my proposed offer was never favoring Washington. Norman Powell (expiring) with Van Vleet and future FRP for Beal and their FRP is a very fair deal.

I think the Raptors should wait a couple years to make a trade for another allstar/superstar. The reason why the Kawhi trade worked out is because we had a ton of depth after the trade. We are still restocking after the championship run. It's time to be patient, build another strong playoff off team built around depth and then flip the switch. It's way too early.

We'll have the rookie, GTJ, OG, Siakam, FVV, and Flynn to build around. Let's just see where we go from here.

Yet, All the smoke seem to lead to a different direction you may not wish Masai should do this offseason. We will all find out sooner than later

Do you think we move off Boucher?

I don't see Boucher as part of the core. If we can package him with another asset to get a better big, then I would do it in a second.

I'd trade him to a team with cap space if we can get a draft pick back. Maybe to NY for one of their picks. I think getting some cap space back for him could be quite useful this off season.

Although if Pascal can't play for the first 3-4 weeks of the season, Boucher would come in handy.

There are obviously many ways the next few days go. I see a few more likely scenarios.

1.a
Draft Suggs (obviously Mobley or Green if they are still there, but I think it will be Suggs)

Sign and Trade Lowry to the Sixers for Ben (maybe there is boucher and a future 1st but hopefully just a 2nd round pick in there)

If Philly wants to see Simmons paired with an actual PG maybe its a sign and trade for Thybulle, Maxey and a 1st (kind of what was discussed at the trade deadline)

Draft Suggs

Lowry walks and signs with the Pelicans for 3 years 90 (I think that is only team that offers him that kind of money)

We offer Allen 4 years 17m a year. Since the cavs just drafted mobley (assumption) they are more inclined to let him walk or take back a few parts as a S&T (Flynn, Boucher, etc)

3 (unlikely but who knows with our tight lipped FO)

Full rebuild.

Trade 4 and Flynn to OKC for SGA and the 6th (Bouknight or Kaminga)

Trade Siakam to GS for Wiseman, Wiggins 7th and 14th.


I don't see Lowry taking a pay cut to go to the Lakers, and I don't want a package of Kuzma, KCP and Schroder unless a 3rd team is involved and if thats the case the amount of scenarios goes nuts.

Looks like the team building philosophy is clear: Surround FVV with BIG ball-handlers who can defend multiple positions and can't shoot (we'll try to teach that).

Kind of like FVV & Delon Wright in the vaunted Bench Mob year.

I think you just pounce when the situation comes. The Kawhi thing was like a once every 10-15 years opportunity. And it was way different from trading the farm for a Bradley Beal, the whole Derozan for Kawhi swap aspect of it made it unique and perfect for Raptors, because offensively the transition was seamless, he was Derozans usage and general floor position, except much better than him at basically everything.
