I agree, if Dragic can be flipped for something actually helps us, and could be a player going forward, then the deal is good. If we have to take Miami's salary dump (I know Dragic is a good player, but we wouldn't be rushing to sign him either), then I'm not enthused. The third team should've been figured out before hand... maybe Lowry's post was rushed, and now teams are trying to take advantage of it.
Or maybe not. I'm finding it hard to get too worked up about the return until we actually know how this shakes out. So many variables...

Another potential scenario is that we really liked Achiuwa and were willing to trade for him if it meant taking Dragic's contract too, even if it caused some issues in free agency. And we may not have cared if we missed out on some notable free agents if it meant we would lose out on Achiuwa.

There's a chance they agreed to the bones of the deal, with some agreement in place where if the Raps could find a third team for Dragic then great, and if not, Miami would kick in some assets to cushion the blow for the Raps losing their cap room.

Achiuwa doesn't move the needle for having to surrender abilities to sign free agents.

I mean if the bar is 35 year old Goran Dragic who won’t be on the team in a year? John Collins, Lauri Markenan, Lonzo Ball, Spencer Dinwiddie or Richaun Holmes would all be improvements in my view.
Anyway it’s only a day maybe another move in pending.

Yea some of the most interesting big names that are available are still out there.. Demar, Collins, Markkaean.
Then the guys who are rumored to be traded-Simmons, Heild, Zinger, bagley
Still think there is some shit to get figured out and the fact that our deal hasn't been announced makes it seem like we are involved with one of these players. To be the champs you got to beat the champs

Just looking at some of the available free agents left:
https://www.spotrac.com/nba/free-agents/available/
Long list of guys. Not much cap space to go around either. I think the Spurs still have a lot of money. OKC should as well. Knicks blew their wad. Dallas is pretty much done once they bring back THJR.
So a lot of these guys will be had for the MLE or BAE.
I always liked Willy Hernangomez as a bench big. Could bring back Biyombo if we're desperate. Or Boss Davis if we need rebounding help. Probably get anyone of those guys for vet minimum if we offer playing time.
