Knicks and Bulls are currently probably better than Raps. Add to Bucks, 6ers, Heat, Nets. That dreaded 7 to 11 seed looks likely if the season started today.
Knicks look like they've improved on paper, and I like the addition of Kemba and Fournier as veteran guys in the locker room. They're really trying to match the Hawks in firepower after that testy playoff series and could be a fun team to watch this season.
I think I like the Trent Jr. signing more than anybody CHI or NY added though. He's a guy that should be able to knock down shots off the catch which wasn't really part of Norm's game. Hopefully it opens up the offense a bit more for Pascal and FVV

I laugh when ppl say Bulls, Knicks,Hawks all these east teams that got better are fake teams.
Listen..this ain't 2019 raptors squad, there is no Kawli,Lowry,Ibaka, Gasol, Green..etc..
Who is left from that squad, Siakim, Freddy, Og..who didn't even play, same with boucher..what makes u think the raptors are better, I love the raptors and I believe them, but let's call spade a spade, this team ain't a playoff team, maybe u can get in with that stupid play in, but raptors don't want that, we want 2 compete for championship and the squad we have, sorry were not even close.
I don't think, u guys realize how big of loss Lowry is this year, you'll c, I like Freddy, but he ain't Lowry..I sometime loose my s$#$t..bc I don't like the way this team is heading, unfortunately we are rebuilding stage, I hope I'm wrong, it's not looking good."Never apologize for coming to me. Huh? Nether of those teams are anywhere near as good as the Lowry/DD Raptor teams. Those teams were at the top of the conference and in the playoffs for years and went to the ECF. Bulls have yet to even make the playoffs and the Knicks got the gentlemen's sweep by the Hawks. Insult to those very good Raptor teams.
Last season was the Knicks comeback to the playoffs since the 2012-13 season when the Woodson led team made it to the 2nd round but got bounced by the Pacers after 6 games.
I said the 2020-21 regular season Knicks are comparable to the Raptors earlier years under Casey when they had great regular season but got eliminated in the first round in 2013-14 and 2014-15.
Like the Knicks, the Raptors then had 5 years of being the doormat until they again became relevant in 2013.

DeRozan signing with the Bulls just stinks of wanting out of San Antonio and having no better offers. No idea how he fits next to LaVine, and nobody on that team plays defense.
If Pat Williams take his game to the next level they're going to be a top 5-6 team in the East.Mamba Mentality

You misunderstood me. I only said Knicks. Never did I say the Bulls.

Pat Williams has potential to be an elite, elite defender. Caruso is a great defender. Troy Brown is a good defender. And LaVine is not really a bad defender. I'm not saying he's great but he's not bad as people say.
Lots of dollars spent on DD and Lonzo Ball and Vucevic..
Not really a lot of money left for Zachs max extension.
There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

I get the impression the Bulls aren't as sold on LaVine as LaVine is.

Come on, the org had a plan to save cap space for Giannis, specifically. Right after he signed they punted on max cap space by extending OG and as soon as they didn't trade Lowry at the deadline it was clear that cap room was a distant plan C for them in the off-season.
Why do you assume the original plan was to chase free agents with cap space? The original plan was to add a superstar. After that was gone, there's no reason for them to stubbornly stick to the same method of improving the team. That would be very silly.
The plan with the sign and trade was to move Lowry, take back an expiring and assets along with it, and use the MLE to re-sign Birch. That was the plan with the SnT.
They saw an opportunity with Dragic to flip him either for cap flexibility (if he was going to NOP) or for more assets (if going to Dallas) and are pursuing those options now because they don't need to have that nailed down until the SnT (and everybody else's moves) can be official on Friday. If those fail, they are just back to the original sign and trade idea: take in Dragic, assets from Heat, and look to flip Dragic at the deadline.

And we all doubted the FO. How could we have ever doubted MU and BW?
