The window for GSW is right now. Like this year. They have a team ready to go.
Who knows how much longer Curry and Thompson and Draymond have.
They got a couple of high return on a low investment vets in Otto Porter and the ageless Iguadouala (aka ring chasers)
A couple of rotation players in Looney and Poole
A bunch of high upside young legs in Wiseman Moody and Kuminga.
And a bazillion dollar building built with private money by the owner of the GSW that has been empty for a couple of years.
All for a chance at the bad joke of the day to say Canadian Andrew WIggins is participating in most canadian of things in his own tim hortons promo "roll up your sleeve to win "
Big money and internal pressure.
Nuthin' like it to help a person reconsider a previously held point of view. .Last edited by Demographic Shift; Mon Oct 4, 2021, 04:13 PM.There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

It's a bit Toronto-centric but it's a great shot of quality NBA perspectives in a very hockey dominated network
The moral of the story is, keep posting at the Republic and you too can one day become part of the machine

Trade deadline scenario: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yx8u9s3c
Raptors:
Maxey (21 years old) from Sixers
Tristan (expiring contract)/ Harrison Barnes (only $18M left next year) from Sacramento
Sixers:
Van Vleet/ 2023 FRP from Raptors
Bagley/ Harkless/ 2022 FRP from Kings
Kings:
Simmons from Sixers
Boucher/ Flynn from Raptors
Rationale:
Raptors - they go way younger at the point guard position, Maxey would align with the core of Scottie/ OG and GTJ.
They can decide as well what to do with Siakam especially if they are in another season of tank mode. The Warriors would be a great destination for him with some of their young guys in exchange.
Siakam/ Dragic/ Future SRPs for Wiseman/ Wiggins/ Kuminga/ Moody
*** Raptors will free up more salaries during the 2023-24 offseason when the Joker is the Prime Free Agent ***
especially when they rid of the salaries of Siakam, Van Vleet and possible players returning like Harrison Barnes (2023 free agent) in the Van Vleet 3 team trade and Wiggins (2023 free agent) in a Siakam trade.
Sixers - by just giving up Maxey and Simmons who is no longer a part of their rotation, they are acquiring depth in 3 positions. They are also getting a fringe All Star in Van Vleet and 2 Future First Round picks from both teams.
Kings - will be getting the player that they have their eye on since last season who would be a nice pairing with their young core in Fox and Hield.

The only asset we get is Maxey and we give up FVV and a 1st round pick!
Maxey is 6 years younger but other than that worse than Fred at everything. Major talent downgrade. He's also a tiny PG as well, so we don't even fix your common midget backcourt complaint. Fred easily has 5 years of all star level play left, 27 is not old, so I just really do not see the point.
Harrison Barnes is 29, 3 years older than Fred, so we get older not younger. He plays the same position as Scottie, can't slide to SG, and is a very undersized PF is we try to force him into that role. He's worse than OG, Scottie, and Pascal so again a big downgrade on talent if we start him. I guess he helps the bench as a minor upgrade over Svi and Yuta?
We also get Tristan Thomas expiring deal which does nothing for us. I'd take Tristan in a trade alone as a playoff push move to bolster the C position but that's the only kind of trade that makes sense for us.
So we're trading away our best player, having his best season ever, who is only 27 years old, for a younger but worse PG, a minor bench upgrade who costs $18M per year, and an expiring big. Oh and we toss in a 1st round pick too, just to make it that much worse for us.
If we're sending out FVV it has to be to upgrade one of the starter positions with a borderline all star, or current all star. Ayton and KAT are the only guys I'm targeting in trades, and I'd rather send out Pascal since OG or Scottie can slide over to PF. Maxey does not move the needle for me in the slightest.

Read the revised post to give you a better perspective because it seems you may have missed some of the bigger points….
but if you are still not buying it then we both can move on

Outgoing: Siakam + FVV + Boucher + Flynn + FRP
Incoming: Maxey + Cap Space
Sounds like something even the Knicks wouldn't do. lol.
Cap space to acquire an MVP calibre player is a pipe dream for Toronto. Even Masai admitted it. Let's not even go there again.

We're not getting MVPs to sign in Toronto, lol. Masai himself admitted that. And why are we sending out all-stars AND sending a FRP out? We should be getting multiple FRPs back. That's terrible asset management.
So you mean acquiring Wiseman/ Moody/ Kuminga for the Raptors 2023 first round pick and future second round picks and ridding of the 2023-24 Salaries of Siakam ($37.8 million) and VanVleet ($22.8 million Player Option) - total of $60 MILLION is terrible asset management? To potentially join in the Joker Free Agency sweepstakes…. Then we can move on. Lol.#FRAUD VanVleet
