You trade Pascal for that and you’re kissing goodbye to competing again any time soon. No matter who you draft at 4.

Thank goodness its not our money.
I still like the theoretical deal even if its at the low end of the discussion on what Pascal might be able to bring
Wiseman / Wiggins and the 7th overall if Kuminga or Barnes is on the board.
Others think this is selling too low.
Always good to have another voice join the Republic..
Don't be shy. There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

Nice try, rook.

The 4 years is mis-leading, because the biggest cap hit, Wiggins, only has 2 years left on his deal. In the second year of his deal, he's expiring, which makes his contract a trade asset for teams that need to clear cap space. That said....Wiggins isn't a scrub. He's an average NBA player with improving defense, who is overpaid. But Pascal is also overpaid, and his deal lasts one year longer than Wiggins, so Pascal has a longer cap hit for a similar max contract.
Nice try, rook.
also hard disagree on Pascals contract being an overpay.Last edited by Limited Upside; Wed Jun 30, 2021, 02:47 PM.

You want Wisemans bird rights? You will pay for those in addition to Wiggins. I think it will amount to 12M or something? If Wiseman sucks, and Wiggins was a one year flash in the pan, trade looks really bad down the line. It certainly doesn’t make TO a contender within the next 3-4 years, which is 100% managements motivation.

Better love who you're getting with that #7 pick (and you better be damn sure) if you do this deal cause, otherwise, you're trading a guy who was the number two option on a championship team for Andrew Wiggins' contract, a center who probably backs up Chris Boucher and a bag of magic beans.
That gives our supposedly elite scouting and player development staff 3 FRPs (aka magic beans). If we can develop any of those picks into desirable players, then you have pieces for another Kawhi-like trade. If we draft & keep Mobley, then there's no point to Wiseman.
I don't know much about Wiseman, but again, we have an elite player development program, right? At some point, you have to believe in your franchise's strengths and core competencies and bet on yourself. Or, why even include Wiseman in the trade if we don't want his cap hit? I'm indifferent on Wiseman either way... this would be more about getting the extra picks and leveraging our franchise's historical strengths.Last edited by golden; Wed Jun 30, 2021, 05:30 PM.

To be clear, the only iteration of the deal I'd make is the one DanH and Primer suggested: Wiggins, Wiseman, 7,14 & 2021 FRP for Siakam & Boucher.

That's a very different deal. You'd probably have to pull the trigger on that. Seems like a steep price for GSW to pay.Last edited by golden; Wed Jun 30, 2021, 11:16 PM.
