RE Siakam on the podcast circuit today windhorst said the raps have been shopping him. Sounds like it has legs.

Yeah I don't know why we are shopping Pascal so hard. He had a couple of issues with Nick last year, but that can't be the only reason. Would love to see him play in Toronto again.

Without having something more specific than "we are shopping Pascal" it's hard to figure out why we would be shopping him - or even how serious we are, and the only specific rumor I've heard/seen so far (though I am probably a few days behind in that respect) is the GSW picks-plus. Offering Pascal as part of a deal for Beal/Lillard, or even Ball is different from shopping him for picks/role players, or for other frontcourt talent.

And while Windhorst is generally reliable, it's a little weird that this would be coming out through him, as that would mean multiple sources that normally don't care about us are feeding it to him (as he's not as tuned in to the full NBA beat as a Woj or Lowe or Stein). I wouldn't be completely surprised if this was coming from otherwise trustworthy source from within a franchise that is looking to set their price on something (e.g. if Philly wants to trade Simmons for Pascal instead of Lowry and wants something to point to to imply that he's available, or someone wants to sign and trade for Jarrett Allen and wants to be able to bring forward as an alternative), though it's kind of a strange way to go about it..

Yeah, who knows with Pascal. If Raps are calling around looking for stars then I imagine Siakam is the asking price. Might be as simple as that.

Windhorst is dialed in to the pulse of the NBA moreso than a lot of mainstream media guys. Way more than our local beat guys.
He was the guy who talked Kawahi to the raps before it happened.

You never know if someone will offer you way more than market price when there is a serious financial need.
GSW owners have a real financial need to fill that bazillion dollar new arena... especially in the playoffs.

No interest in CJ. He is a ball hog, he takes lots of bad shots (usually at the most inopportune times) and he doesn’t defend. And his contract is awful. Siakam is the much better player. Would be a steal for Portland.

Edit: I think he’s the most overrated player in the league.

What about something simple with the Pelicans, trade should work once salaries of sign and trades with Lonzo and Lowry happen:

I wouldn't do Siakam for McCollum, as much as we need shooting. I'd go Lowry plus a FRP for McCollum though
