My other Siakam trade suggestion last year was Pascal to ATL for Reddish + Capela. I still like this trade for the Raptors A LOT.

The Hawks are left without a starting caliber center. And Capela doesn’t fit age-wise or stylistically what Nurse is trying to do here. Who would be his PnR partner? Reddish is nice get though.

I know I suggested this before so i'll bring it up again. Siakam for Jaylen Brown straight up. If the Celtics want more pieces for Brown like Banton or 2nd round picks. Then include Banton or picks in the deal.

The Celtics need to do something. Look at where they are in the standings. Tatum has to be the guy in Boston. But if you watch their games, Brown sometimes would take most of the shots. I don't think they know who the #1 guy is. I don't think Tatum and Brown's game complement each other. Siakam I think would fit in perfectly in Boston playing second banana behind JT.

lol. It's a pipe dream. A direct swap of Dragic for Rubio + 2RP is more realistic. Could add Boucher to the mix to make things interesting.

This trade makes sense for both teams. We just want some sort of asset in return for Dragic and a 2nd round pick fits the bill. Also gets us enough space to sign DJ Wilson.

We just let Rubio expire and move on.

The original trade makes sense for both teams (Dragic + Boucher for Love + 1st) if we're willing to pay the tax in exchange for a 1st round pick, which maybe we are. Masai did get a bunch of concessions in order to resign with us and maybe one of those is we pay the tax if he deems it worth it. This trade sets Cleveland up nicely for a deep playoff run as Boucher can take on the minutes and production of Love.

thanks for the correction. I would be ok with him staying. It is always nice to have a vet presence. Do you think if we attached flynn we could get a 1st rounder back? If not a second rounder would be ok.

I don't think Flynn has shown to have much value. A 2nd rounder may be hard to get as well if I had to be honest.

why so averse to kevin love though? are you worried he'd impede development or eat into playing time of younger players? or that he'd be pouty? worst case scenario i'd see it going down the same way the wall situation is for houston, or horford did in OKC (or dragic is currently going down in toronto). i don't think there's anything we could spend that money on anyway (again, someone more informed can correct me if i'm wrong), and if he's engaged he can still be a useful player.

the cavs have now lost both sexton and rubio for the season, and currently have kevin pangos backing up garland. is there a framework for a deal centered around dragic and kevin love?

would cleveland give up a FRP to get off of love's contract and acquire a competent backup point guard if they think they are poised for a playoff run? we'd need to include boucher to make the money work i think, but he's not in our plans anyway. cleveland is loaded with bigs already and would be acquiring about 27 mil in expiring contracts, would be their incentive (in addition to the help at backup PG).

love is way overpaid and has another year after this one, but has been much better and more engaged this year after spending several years pouting. the capologists can correct me if i'm wrong but i don't believe we're in a position to spend this summer anyway even letting dragic and boucher go, so his extra year is kind of inconsequential. love does some stuff this team is missing (defensive rebounding, shooting), although i'm not sure he's mobile enough on defense for nurse to play him much.

would love revert to pouting in toronto and would dragic be amenable to cleveland are a couple things to consider. but i think i'd make this trade.

I would do that personally to get another big body love could potentially fit off the bench. Alternatively if there is a bigger deal to grab lauri.

If Raps think Turner fits well then go for it, but being cheaper isn't a reason to sign a player when there is an opportunity for a major upgrade. If the idea is to trade Pascal then we have to get a difference maker or as close to it as possible, in return. Ayton has the better all around game, a bit younger so fits the Barnes timeline and still developing. Turner, though still relatively young, has been in the league for what feels like a long time. He's not the athlete or as mobile as Ayton, so not quite as switchable on defense which Raps want to do.

My notion of getting Turner is not to give up Pascal to get him.
