Reporting coming out that the Cavs are prepared to offer Jarrett Allen $100m on his next contract, which would basically mean at minimum they're willing to match any other team's max offer sheet. He should be considered unavailable at this point.

Well if it’s 100M over 5 years that’s well short of a max deal for him. But I agree he is unavailable, once the Cavs gave up a draft pick they were always going to keep him.

Well, no other team can offer him five years, so realistically the Cavs are saying "we will match at least offers of $25m/year for four years" which is a hell of a lot of money for Allen.

Yea.....there comes a point where if Lowry is the best free agent on the market and he might even be cheaper than someone like Holmes...you just keep Lowry and try a trade for a C.
When do we finally get to sign someone else's damn free agent?

Why do we always seem to have the best player in FA and have to look at re-signing them as a big win?

This is highly specific to each situation and each year... if we had cap space and didn't want to resign our guy and there was a guy that was a max player we wanted to sign... then maybe we'd have a chance at it? But why are you so desperate to manufacture one scenario? It seems like you just have the classic Toronto inferiority complex. Guess what? Not a single team this year is gonna sign a top 10 guy in free agency. Does that mean every team sucks and never has a chance and the league has rigged it against them?
Breathe man.
It's Kawhi, it's Fred, it's Kyle.
Always fighting just to hang onto our own. Don't be a typical Toronto fan who's just happy to be here. There's no manufactured scenario, it's one we find ourselves in 3X in 3 years......Toronto Raptors want to move past that, don't take it from me, listen to Masai.Last edited by G__Deane; Sat May 22, 2021, 11:10 AM.

There’s worse things than coming out of this off-season with Holmes for a deal starting at 18 mil. Holmes+Boucher+Birch+Gillespie is a collection of centres that can get it done next to Pascal or OG but can also mix and match to backup Siakam at the 4.
If we go with a guard in the drafting let Kyle walk, Holmes remains a natural fit a la Antonio Davis to toughen up the roster.

If I am Indiana having to gauge the assets that I will be getting for Brogdon and Sabonis...
I would see it like this, Boucher is an advanced statistical stuffer and Van Vleet is the eye test/ intangible player who can carry the vision of my coach.
Both are locker room sweethearts with experience and Championship pedigree.
The two Second Round picks are just bonuses.
