What would the Raps realistically hope to get out of a Lowry sign and trade now anyways? They're about to be flush with young players with 3 picks in the draft plus Flynn and Harris. There's got to be some sort of trade or move to consolidate some of those assets. Or they just let Kyle walk and take the Cap space.

This might not make your day....but expect 4 years and between $68 and 74M$
AAV is going to be ~17 to 18.5m$
The compares are
Caris Levert 17.5M
Atlanta Bogdonvitch $18M
Gary Harris at $21M
Tim Hardaway At 17.8$M
Norms going to get 20....

They could slot Kyle into that lineup seamlessly. Wiseman/Draymond/Klay/Curry/Lowry.
Wiggins and #7 for Lowry in a S&T would work there.. GSW saves some money too since Wiggins is owed $31M next season and Kyle is asking for $20-25M. Plus the #7 pick has a first year salary of $5.3M (which includes the 120% bonus). So total value outgoing would be $36.8M.
So need to send 125% less than that to make the trade work.. which is about $29.5M starting. Lowry would then take 8% less each year. So year 2 would be $27.3M and year 3 $25.3M for an AAV of about $27.4M. Make that 3rd year non guaranteed. That's about what Horford got, and Lowry is better than Horford.
Klay's natural position is SF since that's who he guards on defense. Lowry can bring up the ball to give Curry some rest on possessions. He's also a great 3pt shooter obviously. They signed and traded for DLo so they always wanted another ball handler I suspect. Also gives Klay some load management which I'm sure they'll want given his 2 year lay off from the game.
Of course the Warriors would have to select #7 and we'd trade for the player in free agency.. So just whisper in GSW's ear as to who we'd want at #7.

Why is everyone pushing to trade Siakam? We have our core pretty much locked up, we have a potential stud coming in with the 4th pick. He doesn't, and shouldn't be the main focus on offence. If he can go back to being an above average defender and have an equal slice of the offence, I'm content. And I think he'll actually play better.
With OG and Gary Trent Jr. hopefully taking a leap, the ball should move more.
Siakam may not ever live up to the money he's making but we have lucked out with other contracts and having potentially a couple good players on rookie contracts. He's still a good player/teammate, just not a superstar.

Yeah I don't get why everyone wants a trade when this team is in a really good spot. Transitioning from a championship core to another is no easy task without taking a major dip but we're heading that way minus the years of toiling as a bottom feeder.
1) People on here think that this year is somehow representative of the team's ceiling.
2) People on here are impatient and are just looking for the next star.
3) People like change, the grass is always greener on the other side.
4) People convince themselves that player X would be amazing not realizing the assets that it would take to get player x would leave the vast majority of teams, never mind the raptors, gutted so you wouldn't be much better.
5) People either don't care or fundamentally misunderstand the importance of cap management on a team and where to invest your finances.
Personally, I agree with you. We have a ton of guys from the championship core who played major roles. We have a relatively young team with that core. It isn't like the Warriors where you HAVE to maximize curry's end of prime where Siakam is 33 or like Jimmy Butler 32/31.
You have Siakam who is JUST now entering his prime, because most players enter their prime in 27-29, and begin exiting it around 32-33 depending on their play style. If guys are REALLY REALLY good like Lebron and Jordan and get lucky with their health they can extend out... I don't know if you want to call it prime or not but they can extend out their productivity until they are in their later 30's.
OG is 23, GTJ is22
Flynn is 23
Any rookie we draft with the 4th will be 19.
We literally have very little reason to go into a full rebuild with the youth of our team, in the hopes that something better could happen. If we didn't have a pick this year I would say ok. Or worse, if we somehow made the play-in tournament that so many wanted us to make and we had the 14th pick. I think the case would be stronger to make in favor of potentially tearing down. That said, I still think it is too early. You have a core that without including a 19-year-old blue-chip rookie looks to be on the rise. We owe it to this roster and that championship core of FVV, OG, and Siakam to roll with this team for at least a year or two. Other opportunities to rebuild can present themselves. Now isn't the time to pull the trigger on that. I think Brooklyn may win two chips if they are lucky they are more than likely going to win one n the next 3 years but that is highly dependent on their ability to stay healthy. They will not be able to build out their bench strongly because as their young guys get older and want to get paid they will have a tough time balancing things out on their roster outside those 3 guys.
As I said, before a few times, and I will say it again. You take our bench and upgrade it with GTJ/Rookie, and whoever else we end up signing (otto porter junior for example), and our scoring and bench will be much improved. We will get our depth back, our developmental pipeline will be back and stocked with GOOD players not just undrafted late lottery guys but solid solid guys. That is all without having to seriously worry about trading our best player for someone who will tie up a TON of cap space for no reason. Siakam is fair value or close to fair value with his contract. Wiggins simply put is not. I saw people on reddit suggesting we Trade OG for Simmons... When OG is just as productive overall as Simmons on the defensive end with waaay better offence RIGHT NOW and is younger by a year.
Boredom plays a big role in this, and the unwillingness to actually dig deeper than counting stats.
