If Lowry really wants 3 years/90million at 30 million per season, can the raptors even sign him?

Pascal - $33M
Lowry - $27.5M (with 8% raises, can get to $90M in 3 years)
FVV - $20M
Boucher - $7M
Trent Jr - $13.5M ($60M/4 year deal with 8% raises)
OG - $16M
Flynn - $2M
Barnes - $7M
Watanabe - $1.7M
Freddie G - $1.5M
Bembry - $2M
--------------------
$131.2M
That's 11 players
Tax is at $136.6M. So if we can bring Birch in for $3M (bi-annual).. and give minimum deals to our camp guys.. we could duck the tax.
Lowry's and/or Trent's contracts can be negotiated by a bit to make it easier to sign a better big like Olynyk. Or we can waive Bembry and Freddie G and save some money that way too.

Moses Wright could be an interesting sleeper pick up for the squad.

They can. They can offer him 5 years at 40+M per season (or up to 4 years at 40+M per season if it's for a sign and trade). But they'd be going deep into the tax to do so (unless they sign and trade him in which case what matters is the salary coming back), in all likelihood, which they won't do. The 30M number, even, will be tough for them to stay under the tax. I expect the Raps make an offer near 25M.

Yep, ACC Player of the Year, solid PF who played mostly C in college. Solid offensive game all around. Came to basketball late in life and has made huge strides each season. I really hope he makes the team, probably a 2 way.
That would make it 4 player's from the ACC in this year's draft.Last edited by c-troop; Sun Aug 1, 2021, 11:07 AM.
