Kawhi might be out of next season with his ACL, and once he's back in 2023, I am not too sure he can be at the peak ever. Now looking back, MAYBE Kawhi's leaving was a good thing for Toronto because if you notice Kawhi in the 2019 playoffs he was hobbling and limping sometimes, and I guess he already had some problems with his ACL. Had he stayed, he may miss a big chunk of the season, and inevitably be out of season to have ACL surgery.

The only thing that would slow it down is if a bunch of teams are waiting on one guy - which might be the case again this year, and it might well be Lowry making them wait. And guys who are in a position to make teams wait, tend to make them wait, at least a bit.

No he meant using OKC as a 3rd team to help the Raptors get cap space.
Miami - gets Lowry
Toronto - gets cap space, Achiuwa and Okpala
OKC - gets Dragic, first round pick from Miami for taking Dragic.
Plus we don't need to contend this year and the FA class is underwhelming. I'm not paying to unload Dragic, just keep him for a year, he's still good.
