well at least we know there isn't some weird bigger move that involved salary matching with baynes or hood.. that stuff is out of the way. We have an improved bench. I know some didn't mind bembry but its time to move towards a younger bench with strong upside. Haven't watched enough Precious but I have seen his olympic game and I am a fan. I still would LOVE LOVE LOVE to get NAW. I don't think it happens though but him on the bench would be great. Our bench in general will be good and depending on summer league we may have one of the second rounders there too.

That's what I would guess. Maybe 10M over two years, 15 over 3. Team option on the third maybe?
Honestly I think he will get what baynes got 7 million per year at 3 years..look at all the the bad players, how much they got paid..very scary. I would not be surprised."Never apologize for coming to me. Office hours are for patients.

The team however is no where near ready to contend.. so getting a star into this system wouldn't really make a difference, unless that star is 27 years or younger. Could be why we have interest in Ben Simmons since he fits that age bracket.

I thought Paschall was a good bench contributor for them the past 2 seasons

If we can't trade for a superstar (and we probably can't) a Pascal trade with Golden state could make a lot of sense. Wiggins will come, pretty good story there returning to TO and he's made some strides, and Wiseman could be an excellent get. The more I think about that deal, the more I like it. Particularly as it seems we have no plans to contend for the foreseeable future. The demise of the Centre has been greatly exaggerated.
The narrative about centers are gone, they are history was wrong, because they are in a period of transition, people who think 6-8 is a "BIG" and your team is big enough with a bunch of 6-8, 6-9 centers they are just...."kids" start to watch hoops when Raptors made it to the Eastern Conference finals in 2019.
At the end of the day, teams who have a 7-footer, who is quick enough and long enough defensively, and can stretch the floor offensively, is the Game Changer.
Two young players I personally really like and fits the Raptors perfectly are Wiseman and Bamba, hopefully we can get one of them
Reminder: The Single BIGGEST Reason Canada Men's basketball are NOT in the Olympics, because they were not Big Enough, Powell was their only big and even Powell wasn't big enoughLast edited by Eric Montross 00; Wed Aug 4, 2021, 05:31 PM.

Besides, this trade would have been there at the draft before the Warriors made their 2 picks. And we didn't bite then. So I doubt it's there now.

I'm not sure the team does that. I think they look at Pascal and Fred like DeMar and Kyle from 2014. Pascal, when/if traded, will likely be moved for a better player, and not a collection of picks and prospects. The team can find diamonds in the rough in the draft. They like to win and develop at the same time.

Siakam is a very good two way player and DeMar wasn't a great defender or outside shooter, the holes in his game were part of the reason for trading DeMar imho. But nobody on this roster will be untouchable if a shot at a true alpha guy comes up.Last edited by S.R.; Wed Aug 4, 2021, 05:48 PM."We're playing in a building." -- Kawhi Leonard

I think the raptors would regret a wiseman trade without having the structure in place. He needs a ton of development. He seems to project out to be the next Hassan Whiteside. I think he doesn't read the floor well, and doesn't do the things that the raptors need.
I would hold out and try and aim for KAT

It was for a future protected 2nd rounder.. basically a salary dump. Probably to lessen their tax burden. But maybe they just want the roster spot.

Question for cap nerds: Where does that luxury tax money go and how is it used / divided up?

Id add that most of our development success stories came in with a ferocity, motor and instincts those guys dont have.
