Ah Bill Simmons. He was really influential as a sports blogger, becoming one of the first writers of note to write about sports from a fan perspective instead of the traditional, dry, sports reporter genre. Was a lot of fun at the time, especially the mailbags. But he appears to be an asshole of a businessman who just builds brands up and sells them off and leaves a good number of pissed off employees in his wake. Now the minimal content he produces himself is 90% troll jobs, cheap attempts at generating clicks and views. The fun is gone.
Grantland was really good.
Simmons sold the Ringer to Spotify in Feb 2020, for 196M and he's still running it, and keeping everyone employed. I don't really love his Boston Homerism but he's been great for basketball and pop culture media. It's my go to for Podcasts, and general reading. If you guys are into movies check out the Rewatchables... love it!

Hopefully simmons isn’t rewarded in any way incase it catches on. Im sure I missed several but I havent heard a straight im not showing up since steve framcis was drafted
cant wait to see simmons visit Philadelphia with whatever team he joins. Phil might be the worst city in the league to flip the bird to

Really? Yeah, the producer from Open Gym announced he was leaving the other day too. A lot of people announcing changes this close to the start of season is a bit weird. Maybe that’s just when contacts end. Hopefully not. Would be looking forward to something new

Might have something to do with covid, some of the ones leaving could be anti vax. Hence not allowed to be at ACC.

Cleveland just signed Tacko Fall, which means they now have seven bigs under contract (Fall, Mobley, Allen, Love, Dean Wade, Mfondiu Kabengele, and Lamar Stevens). I'm not sure why they keep signing project bigs when they have Mobley, but Cleveland gonna Cleveland.

Best take on the Ben Simmons trade talks I saw on twitter was: 76ers are trying to trade the idea of Ben Simmons rather than the player Ben Simmons actually is.
I really don't know where he lands but have no real desire to see him on the Raptors via trade.Heir, Prince of Cambridge
If you see KeonClark in the wasteland, please share your food and water with him.

Two of Philadelphia's three best players from their 2018-19 team (probably the best roster of The Process era) decided they don't want to play there anymore, I wonder if all of Philadelphia's having an existential crisis about their city or if ESPN's writing narratives about how the Sixers can't keep stars. Oh no wait they don't have Canadian ego fragility they just give those guys a "fuck you too you sucked anyway" on their way out the door (not really exaggerating.)"We're playing in a building." -- Kawhi Leonard

I absolutely wouldn’t want Ben Simmons here (Bill I would be okay with, if he bows down to the Raptors)
here are some pretty fair trades:
Philly: MPj, Aaron Gordon, Monte Morris
Denver : Ben Simmons
Simmons can play with another great 5, and one that can space the floor. Jamal Murray and Simmons would be a good backcourt pairing, and Simmons brings more D the MPj will ever bring.
Philly gets MPjr which is a damn good prospect, plus a PF that can play along side Embiid. Maxey would be thrown into the fire at PG
NEXT:
To Philly : Garland, Love, and picks (probably 2, possibly 3)
To Cleveland : Simmons
Sexton is a scorer at heart, Simmons would be a good back court mate. They have enough youth to move picks, Simmons, Mobley, Okuro, and Mobley can grow together
Philly gets Love and a very good young PG prospect, plus picks. Pretty fair value
NEXT:
Philly: Kevin Porter Jr, Eric Gordon, Woods
Houston : Simmons
once a gain Philly gets better and a young prospect. A pick might have to be thrown in on this one maybe ‘25 draft so Houston can load up.
houston : Simmons and Green would be a fun pairing, throw Senguin into the fire. Wall would be the odd man out.
