Moody has a lower ceiling so I don't see the advantage of getting him.
So if you really want jokic wouldn't holding on to Siakam and doing a sign and trade be a better option? Kuminga I like but not enough to give up Siakam.
Also if you are trying to keep scottie happy why are you not competing then? You are basically getting worse AND giving up near future assets. Seems a bit wonky. I suppose you could say why get a draft pick if you are getting 2-3 good prospects in Kuminga and Maxey and Moody.
As for Maxey he looks good but he doesn't look like starting level material for a future contending team. He looks good but not on that type of level.
Again If you are giving up FVV and you want to keep a guy like Scottie content so he resigns you gotta keep yourself in the mix of being competitive. If not now, then by 2023/2024. Time goes very quickly so unless you really really see Kuminga as THAT level of dude and that he can get there within that timeline I would opt not.
I honestly think Barnes will be A GUY in this league very soon. I could also see him being a top 5-10 guy in the league within 3-4 years. Again you gotta be competitive for when that happens.
To me if you wanna give up a guy to get a guy you take the ultimate gamble and give up freddy and filler and picks for Ben Simmons and thought out the all 6'9 line up. I don't know if it would work on offensive with the spacing but I am curious to try it. Defensively it would be insane in theory. You would have 4 all defensive potential guys in the line up and you could stagger that VERY nicely to bolster the bench.
For now I think making moves on the margins like trading Boucher and getting a 2nd rounder is realistic and what is likely going to happen. We just need Chris to actually ball out for a few games so we can trade him.
Fred could get traded in the off season.
If you really want to push future assets out then give up two unprotected firsts and the salaries needed to try to get Jakob back. OR trade for a guy like NAW on the pelicans.
