FVV was undrafted and therefore a free agent signing.

          That is very fair.

I still think Barnes will be a huge recruit in the future.

I think he meant recruiting a high quality established FA, rather than developing an unheralded.

i expect that's because march will include the april games, the same way november included the october games.

i expect cade to win it because the march/april raw numbers stats are crazy
it could have been that they did not release it because there is really now way that mobely beat either scottie or cade for march...they vote today for teh roy....so since no one won rookie of te month for march....cade, scottie and mobely are 1 a piece....real garbage they fuk over barnes and cade....here is malachi winning in april....announced on may 4th .....crooked ass shit......https://www.si.com/nba/raptors/news/...%20NBA%20Draft.

i don't think it's a conspiracy, i think it was just that it's a march and april award, as per the blake tweet. i think voters for the annual awards still have until tonight so they can incorporate this information if it sways them. (i'd argue if it does at this late stage, they probably shouldn't have a vote.)

weird that they had a separate ROTM for april last year and didn't combine them with the may games (season ended mid-may last year), but the past two years have been weird all-around with the pandemic

nice. thought it'd go to cade because his numbers were crazy, but nice to see whoever looks at this stuff considers winning, as cade sat out some games to help his team tank.

                      • KOC voted scottie.

bill simmons also voted scottie, followed by mobley and cade.

rusillo voted cade, followed by scottie and mobley

                        • Barnes might get the win through the combinations of first and second place votes. I can’t see many guys picking Barnes number 3.

If Mobley gets it, it’s understandable but I think Scottie’s role is more difficult with similar stats.

How TF does anybody vote for Cade @ #1? I mean, if Barnes gets Cade's unlimited usage with no incentive to win games; then Scottie might be putting up a stat-line somewhere near 24/12/6, but easily 20/10/5, which I think would be historic for a rookie.

Numbers and some big games. Cunningham would be the conventional choice in any normal year but this season is an oddity with Barnes (and possibly Mobley) being on playoff teams. But some voters will just look at most points and vote for that guy like they always do.

All 3 are going to get first place votes.

yeah i like rusillo but disagree with him on this one, obviously. he basically said that he's never subscribed to the win argument when it comes to ROY, and that he thought cade had the most difficult job on a possession by possession basis. he acknowledged that cade's argument falls apart when looking at efficiency/the advanced numbers, and said he really loves barnes and mobley as well.

he's not alone though. i've seen a few picks for cade. not sure how many of the people below have a real vote though (rusillo does for sure).
