Darko seems to be in love with Scottie based on the interviews. I’m sure part of his pitch to the FO was getting Scottie to the next level by running the offence through him. That’s not gonna happen with Scottie off the bench. The 4 guys that have to have to have to start on this team are OG, Pascal, Scottie, and Poeltl, for a combination of positional/political/contractual factors. Even if those 4 don’t fit the best together, it’s going to happen.

Gonna level with you man Scottie had .487 eFG% last season. That is going to be a stain on his legacy at the end of his career.

He could run the whole second unit thru Scottie and still feed him 30 mins a game with a higher volume of shots because FVV is gone.

Poeltl can't shoot. That squad can't defend the pass. It's too clunky. Sure Scottie is a better defender and passer than GTJ but I can't see Darko sacrificing team shooting, he's European. There's not really a real reason to start Scottie, because positionally you have all boxes checked defensively with Scottie coming off the bench. I still think he is gonna get lots of minutes beside Grady. But I really think he has more room to operate in the second unit.

He will absolutely destroy teams' second units.

The reason you start Scottie is he's the centerpiece of the team. As Darko has publicly been stating.

Scottie should still get a lot of bench minutes, he and Siakam should get staggered to support those groups. But he will absolutely start.

I don't see what defensive limitations you are seeing in that starting group. Should be a excellent defensive lineup. The concern is the shooting. And you fix that by trading off Schroder's defence for GTJ's shooting if that's preferred.

yeah i just re-watched the interview from the first summer league game which i still have PVR'd. they asked him what style we're going to play and he said we're going to be a team that makes quick decisions, moves the ball, and put the ball in scottie's hands.

Honesty, Let's all pray that we can sign this kid back, after what his gonna do this year, be ready. Don't say I didn't warn u, when u have fun and are happy, u the man, environment is great, u just play better..this his 3rd year, I expect big things.

He's not Lebron level. He's not Kawhi level. He might not even be Sabonis level. You are boosting him pretty hard imo. He's nice but let's be real here, he has a season to develop a shot or he will become low-key old news.
