Doesn't even touch on the recent doubling-down of the front office (however ineptly) to build around Scotty.
Fans see two years of similar production and a biased to predict status quo over a significant improvement. I'm going to pound the over, and if a player like Scotty can take a big leap, there's no way this team is anywhere close to bad.
I'd be surpised, even with a younger team with a lot of changes, if third year Scottie doesn't lead this team to a winning season.Last edited by SkywalkerAC; Mon Jul 17, 2023, 12:18 PM.

There’s a lot of talk about handing the keys to the kingdom to Scottie and letting him run the show.
That sounds great to me, good for his development, etc.
But exactly how do people envision this working?
Whose game should he model his after?
If we look at the playoff year we just watched, would it be
LeBron James?
Giannis?
Jimmy Butler?
Someone else from the past, e.g. Magic Johnson?
Who does the have the ability to play like (successfully)?

In my head, Scottie's statline when he's at his peak could be something like 24 ppg, 8 rbg, 7 apg, 1.5 spg and 1 bpg.

Also some no name scrubs on the roster. Like why the hell is Payton Pritchard and Naz Reid on the team?Last edited by Primer; Sat Jul 22, 2023, 04:41 PM.

I think he has the ability to play like... himself. If he shows up to his full potential, I don't think the objective should be to play like another great player, but to take some from every great's game.

So, at his peak, he would be something like Siakam now? Don’t mean to derail the thread but it just shows you how complex the idea of trading Siakam is.

Yeah peak Scottie will have similar stats to Siakam but better passing. Point being they are way too similar to play together, so build around the younger cheaper one, instead of wasting Scottie's development playing with a guy taking up his space on the court.
