I'm on the Scottie train too but I think it would serve us well to look at last year's summer league thread where there was serious consideration given as to whether Malachi Flynn was going to be Chris Paul (or better)
Sorry, but we're going to have ask you to get off this train, sir.

Scottie combines the best elements of: Draymond, Pippen, Kawhi, Magic Johnson & Lebron. Except bigger.

      • Malachi's game is kinda reminiscent of Chris Paul's...

I'd give the kid some more time to develop.
          His future is bright.
l also see some glimpses of Tony Parker.

          • Has their been many more anticipated/hyped personality (aka "character", as in "he's a real character") than Scotty since Sir Charles? Shaq is one. That seems to be how he's being talked about in NBA circles.

He definitely has that outgoing personality and is vocal on and off the court. I'm trying not to get ahead of myself, but he can be the next heart and soul of the team and leader in terms of communicating offensively and defensively and bringing his energy and high motor. OG is a terrific defender, but he isn't exactly vocal.

no not at all. Scottie can fill the vocal defensive role that marc had. Kyle had it too but Marc was always the one calling things out. Scottie is a TALKER and I like it.

                • Actually it's funny we would say anything about pippen, it's siakam that fits that bill the most.

                  • His physique resembles Dwight Howard at times. Terrifying awesome.

He is just a rookie too, most players start adding muscle throughout their first few seasons, we'll see what Scottie looks like in a few years.

Average male isn't fully grown until age 25. Growth slows down a lot after 19 but you're still growing. That's why a players prime is usually age 25-30.

Scottie may end up huge like Giannis after a few years. Giannis has put on 45lbs since he was drafted.

                        • And that's why the idea of him being our closing center, even as a rookie, is not that outlandish. He's so talented yet so strong (on D especially) that opposing teams would probably forced to go small rather than be blown by.

                          • It's very rare, but we would be incredibly lucky if Barnes grew enough couple inches and became a legit 5 with his current skills. He seems like he wouldn't complain about playing any position.

Its a big bonus if he goes the Giannis route. Giannis was listed at 6'9 when he entered the draft, he grew to 6'11 or 7 feet. Scottie is listed at 6'9 and has a larger wingspan than Giannis. If he grows an inch or two, watch out.

                              • Surprised that he only weighed in at 225 lbs (which isn’t bad by any means). Must be that his frame is just massive but his musculature still has a ways to go.
