These guys have to write about something but it's obviously way too soon to draw conclusions. I only saw the one Suggs game and he looked fine. I thought Barnes looked fine. The only guys I saw who raised my eyebrows were Kuminga cause he looks like he might be a bit of a steal at 7 and Jalen Johnson (who would have been a lottery pick if he wasn't a problem child) might be a great pick if he can keep his head on straight.

We all know Barnes will be a bit of a project on offense. We will judge these kids 3 years from now.
I see Barnes as a great 2 way , with great playmaking skills ala Kawhi.
Suggs is potentially a bigger CP3 type.
I would choose a better playmaking Kawhi over a bigger CP3 anytime.

Take this for what you will, but Sam Vecenie sounds a lot like he's trying to defend his pre-draft ranking (see... I was right!)
He's judging Barnes as being a PG like Suggs when he was playing PF all summer league. How many PF are expected to create out of half court sets? Did he not see Flynn playing PG the whole time?
Suggs and Barnes each had 2 good games.
Scottie had 1 bad game and 1 so-so game where he didn't shoot well but was otherwise awesome (5 blocks!). Scottie finished strong with his best game of the summer league, showed progression.
Suggs was playing like shit in his 3rd game where he got hurt. In 11 minutes he shot 2-6 with 2 reb, 1 ast, 2 TO and 3 PF, while being a -9. He still played the same minutes as the rest of the Orlando starters because they sat everyone after getting their ass kicked in the 1st half 50-31 by Boston. So pretty convenient to say that game doesn't count.
I'm sure both players will be very good but homeboy is jumping to some ridiculous conclusions considering what we saw out of both guys in summer league. Suggs seems like he will be a very good PG, and Barnes seems like he will be a very good point forward, you can't pick a winner based on that tiny sample size.

That's not Barnes though, he'll shoot from anywhere and he's got great court vision and passing instincts, just need to improve the % from 3.

I think if the Raptors had their way, everyone on the team can play PG. That's what they are looking for. For anyone to be able to grab a rebound, run up the court, and make a play before the defense has a chance to set.
So Barnes will be able to play with anyone, since he has that ability.
