    • So impressed with this kid. mostly the rapid growth he shown since season tipoff.
Maybe next year, they use Pascal or Freddy as the DeMar trade for a Kawhi and Barnes, GTJr, OG and Achiuwa is the future?

To me he's taken another leap in the last couple weeks, not even the same player from October. This guy Im watching now looks like an nba all star by next season

He was definitely gassed by the all star break. It was something like he played 4x times more minutes in the first half of the season than he did in his college season.

          • I just invested four rookie cards of Scottie ….will cash out in 20 years when it’s all said and done, he will be 40 by then and a statue built beside the GROAT. Lol

That one on one play vs. Lebron was a beaut…still with baby fat

Sky is the limit for the real No.4

              Trade FVV for sure.
Surround Scottie with the right pieces, like what the Bucks did with Giannis.

You mean like when the Bucks got him an elite 2 way point guard? Yeah, we need to get rid of Freddie and find one of those

                • It's not unusual to see a rookie hold down a starting spot, but to impact the game at such a high level is impressive. The man child just keeps growing by leaps and bounds. Can't wait to see his development next season.

Exactly what I thought. Don't know why the pieces we have right now would not be the good ones to surround him!

Evidently that's gonna be Flynn now

Truth. These are five 2-way players, all of whom can shoot from distance, guard multiple position and put pressure on the paint. Six if you include Precious now shooting 3's. All 27 and under. All you need is depth, which we can get through the next couple of drafts while the Durants and Curries of the world get older.

                        • What impresses me about Barnes (among many things), is just how easily he bullies NBA veterans in the paint to get to his spots. Look at what he does here to Malik Monk. Shrugs him off like a flea. It's like watching Kobe or MJ at one of their summer camps, backing down a grade schooler... just for fun.

The problem is that as long as FVV is here,
he will be the main orchestrator of the offense, not Scottie.

He has been doing it more and more, people need to get over thinking Fred is some selfish player.

That's true, but you will also see other players (including Scottie) alternating on that role more and more. We've seen many times Siakam initiate the offence, and also starting to see Scottie doing that more and more, even with Fred on the floor (coach likes to often put Fred off ball too for his shooting) . Nick likes to alternate the looks on both offence and defence. We've seen both Siakam and Scottie actually start as the official point guards this year.

It's a good thing the team has more than one creator, we've seen that before with Nurse in prior years where he would have both Lowry initiating and Gasol creating from the high the post. Now you got a mix of Scottie creating with Fred spotting up, or Fred creating with Scottie going inside/getting tip-ins, and also Siakam creating. It's fluid.

Ultimately though, the key is to have a well rounded aggregate of talent that includes shooting, creation, defence and rim pressure/physicality, regardless of position/role. This team has that throughout the 5 starters. Only way I'm messing around with that is for a clear upgrade in 2-way talent, and you're very hard pressed to find that in any theoretical trade involving Fred, he's already an all-star.
