So if you have a 5 man lineup of Barnes (running point), FVV, Siakam, OG, Precious. You could just have the 6’8/6’9 guys interchangeably play the 5 on D. Each of them have a standing reach of 9ft. My guess is OG would be able to handle big fives better than the rest.

Honestly, if Nurse and company get Achiuwa shooting comfortable from distance then we could have some wicked lineups.
I dunno, you'd have 2 certified non-shooters (Barnes/Precious) and a very inconsistent shooter (Pascal) on the floor. Opposing teams would throw a lot of zone defense at them. Even with Lowry and FVV on the court, we had trouble with the Heat zones for entire games the last few years. Playoffs would be a disaster.

Do we know Barnes is a non-shooter? His splits at FSU weren't that bad and were skewed by a bad stretch. His FT% isn't particularly awful. I get that the seasonal 3PT% doesn't look great but it's one year. He's awkward offensively at this stage, so everything likely looks worse but I'm wondering if his lack of shooting is being oversold. Guess we'll find out.

Scottie is actually a three point specialist, he just was in a slump last year.

Wait until we tell golden the team only has 2 or 3 shooters on the roster

4 - Trent, Flynn (he had a tough start), OG, and FVV.

Yuta is a decent shooter as well now. 40% last season (in limited time though)

He's not a non-shooter at all, this is no Ben Simmons or Markelle Fultz situation. It's very much in line with the Raptors recent draft history which is pretty remarkable, last college season vs this past NBA season:

                  - OG 3P% .311 > .398 and FT% .563 > .784
                  - Siakam couldn't shoot 3's at all > .297 (big COVID drop tho) and .678 > .827
                  - Powell .319 > .411 and .751 > .871
                  - Boucher .350 > .383 and .565 > .788

They're absolutely onto something with their draft picks & development program. I'm not worried about Barnes at all. May take 2-3 years though.

Overall they're evidently not in a rush to win now, which is interesting given Siakam and FVV's ages. Those guys are right in their primes but management is pushing the team's ceiling 2+ years down the road with this youth movement. They could have gone for Suggs and a win-now C and they aren't. Barnes & Precious needing some shot work also imply a peak that's down the road a bit.

David Thorpe literally said Barnes shot was broken, and would need to be rebuilt. He watched every one of his games at FSU because his son is also on the team. Thorpe is also a high-end skills development coach, good buddy of Masai and big advocate of Barnes. Says it can be fixed, though, especially since Barnes is such a hard worker. Nurse said it wasn't broken, so there's a difference of opinion there... and Nurse is also a shot doctor.

Either way, if professional coaches are debating semantics on whether a guy's shot is broken or not, suffice to say... he's a non-shooter until he proves otherwise. And I believe Barnes will do just that - just don't know when.

He was 5 made shots away from 70% FT apparently. And he reworked his shot since leaving FSU but it was broken shot in college according to many people

He said the opposite of this. That his shot was decidedly not broken and that he didn't suffer from Shaq/big hands syndrome because his thumb was not in on the action (aka paralyzed).

I'm pretty confident though that Raptors will teach him how to catch and shoot. I think eventually he'll develop a corner three and etc. But off the dribble pull up at higher % is big jump to make and he'll need to make that jump in order to be franchise player or one of core guys

There was a podcast interview just after the draft and Thorpe said "... it's broken'. Have to dig it up.
