Is it the same as the regular 10 day contract?
it's just that this is the first time I heard of the hardship 10 day deal

Well, regular 10-day contracts count against the cap and tax.

The hardship contract is brand new. They just created it last week to help with the COVID stuff.

Jordan Loyd, Jeremy Lin, Eric Moreland, Jody Meeks, etc... get rings. JV gets diddly squat, even though he helped the team get the top seed and home court in a championship year. That's a travesty. Jordan Loyd didn't even play, but I suppose he should get something for being in that classic Kawhi buzzer beater photo.

If there's ever a time for a team to be overly generous, it's in a championship year. Everyone that so much as touched that roster that season should have a ring, IMO.
