  • That's hilarious about Wiggins. But is he the first Canadian after Nash to start in an all-star game?

Hopefully the NBA gets rid of positions as they don't make sense anymore. DeRozan should be a forward not a guard. Either way, that's now three times that he's been voted in (twice as a Raptor). Good for him.

    • Y'all incessantly talk about how criminally under-rated Raptors' 2-way players are, but then you dump on Wiggins... the top wing defender on the best defensive team in the league. And in the same breath, you say an offensive guy like Booker or a defensive guy like Draymond (who's played a lot less games) should be getting in over Wiggins. Make up your minds. lol.

Sure, Booker is no longer the glaring defensive weak link he once was, is probably the nicest way to put it. But still, he has Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Cam Johnson, CP3 and Ayton to help him out. Wiggins has Draymond, sure, and Looney, but he's the primary wing and perimeter defender on the top rated defensive team.

My point is that people on this board always talk about how overlooked defense and 2-way players are... but if you add that component to Wiggins body of work this year, then it's not as laughable as people are making it out to be, on merit.

Having said all that, I can see why people are upset. Klay also got a ridiculous amount of votes. It's unfair. #DubNation is real. They've created a global brand like the Lakers. Warriors are everything that Masai wants the Raptors to be.

I mean you could use that "help" argument for every team and player.

KD shouldn't be valued because he gets Harden's help.....

Wiggins doesn't benefit from.... Steph Curry... the man who has basically shifted the way NBA offenses operate..... There are levels to this. Not shitting on cP3 but yeah. Jae Crowder has sucked this year if you look at his games. Cam Johnson comes off the bench. Ayton doesn't help with spacing.

There is no question that booker is a better overall player.

In terms of Wiggins being all star lets be honest .... being on the warriors and getting that much national media attention automatically leads to you getting a higher amount of votes from the fan vote.

I didn't see anybody call our Raptors players All-Stars starters though.

Canadians don't like Wiggins because he never lived up the Maple Jordan hype and he dissed Team Canada for years, until last summer. And we're jealous of Warriors success and their huge global fanbase. Sure, Wiggins shouldn't be a starter, but it's not like it's completely outrageous, like if Klay got in.

Lots of poster saying both Fred and Pascal should be All-NBA.

damn they tripping. But looking at votes I don't see Raptors fans really pulling for them.

I don't know about the general fanbase who votes, but people on here constantly bring up: "_______ Raptor player is way better, because he plays defense, than Beal, Lavine, Booker, DeRozan, etc...." That's been going on for years. You missed that?

i agree with this posts' message but would just point out that draymond is a two way stud and has been their second most important player for as long as kerr has been there.

since he went out they've more or less maintained their defense, but their offense has cratered.

2-way player is a bit too generous to Draymond. He's a very nice secondary/tertiary hub for playmaking, sort of Gasol like connector. But other parts of his offensive game are atrocious. I'd call him maybe a ~1.5 way player, at best.

I must be in the minority then. I'm happy for him that he made it in and how good he has gotten on the Warriors.
