That's not much as I figured. I don't think we'll be in the market for Dame lol. Maybe they use it to resign Boucher?

Will be interesting to see if they look at moving one of the core guys to make room for a more traditional C in the line up, or if they continue to play Scottie there. I'm pretty happy with the way the team is shaping up with the current roster of players.

Fred and Pascal are showing they are more than capable of replacing Lowry and DeMar as the focal point and leaders of this team.Trent has been dynamite and is just going to get better with an off season to work on his game more. I'm a bit concerned with how much Barnes has been bulking up, but am expecting an off season to work on his game will be huge for his development considering how quickly he's been picking things up. The first season of OG dabbling with more than catch and shoot offense has seen its highs and lows. If he can get comfortable with that role then I think he can be a big key to the Raps getting into that next tier of teams where you're expected to be a top 4 seed.

Then there's the bench. Sort of a hot mess right now with little development happening. I hope Banton and Flynn can develop some chemistry off season and take it upon themselves to lead the bench. Maybe need to add some shooting to that unit.
we don't want dame... those abdominal issues seem very serious and like they will be a long standing concern. His contract is also going to suck because he is going to want an extension already and will be getting close to 55-60 mill at the end of that. no thanks. Not interested in hampering our cap with Dame. Yeah I think if you are looking you are considering packaging birch and the 5million up to get someone who is at a poeltl type level or grab someone in the draft while taking on salary. Or grabbing a middle tier guy. we don't necessarily need a splashy move so much as we need a solid bench.

If a big big move comes up they will still prioritize guys who fit the model so SGA is likely secretly a target ... not saying they get him but he will be targeted.

      it’s time !!!!

we didn’t get anything done trade deadline. canadians dont say things to your face they whisper behind your back and kick you on your way out the door (william lou saying nothing but nice things about dragic till he was traded then kick him in his back on his way out.)

the toronto raptors whispers got so loud after trade deadline that bobby webster had to have a presser then masai have one a few days later to try and quiet the talk after masai said at the beginning off the season you will not see him till the end of the season.

when masai steps back and let’s his staff handle things you see a noticeable drop off in quality, clarity and Competence. the statement bobby made about trying to get thad young multi times was glaring to me.

like i said it’s time to pull back the curtain and figure out who is not doing their job
      Bobby Webster General Manager
      Luke Winn, prospect strategy
      Curtis Crawford Director, Player Personnel
      Isaac Lax Basketball Operations
      Mike Akuboh scout
      Kevin Gamble scout
      Abel Nson scout
      Sarah Chan scout
John Corbacio Head Video Coordinator/Assistant Coach
      Jamaal Magloire Basketball Development Consultant

Patrick Engelbrecht Director, Global Scouting & International Affairs

i want to see my team win and win big someone is not doing their job.

list of centers over the past few years
      khem birch
      Alex len
      chris boucher
this has been a under developed position for a number of years we traded for gasol and ibaka
I believe as an organization the raptors at this point in time do not value the centre position highly.

We did with Gasol / Ibaka but since they left after the championship season (without much of an effort to retain either of them) it has been pretty uneventful at the 5. Its an organization decision it seems. Nick Nurse is content to play small ball (he doesn't have much choice) and the front office (nice list by the way) has steered clear of putting money or assets into the 5 for the 6.

How long this lasts is anyones guess.
Watching Jokic just stand under the offense basket and pull down 3 rebounds on one play without having to jump was pretty tough.
There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

they have a 5 mill TPE which can be used by combining it with with someone like birch and his salary to bringing a larger salary or get into the sign and trade market potentially.
        You can't combine exceptions!

No exceptions! Golden (I think) even made the joke!

A 5M TPE can bring in a player making 5M or less. It cannot help with bringing in a player making 5.1M or more, no matter what else you send out.

Not that I'm expecting them to make a big moves, but after the Dragic for Thad trade, what sort of cap space will the Raps have for any free agency signings in the off season? Did it free up anything significant?
The Raptors are solidly above the cap for the foreseeable future.

The MLE and re-signing their own guys and using minimums will be their FA pursuits.

Bigger acquisitions will need to come in the form of some sort of trade.

You're bang on with your trade exceptions but mixing up your G's. I'm pretty sure it was everybody's favourite dinosaur chaos theorist.

So do you anticipate that Boucher will walk at the end of the season and what can they offer Thad?

I think the Thad contract will depend on how he does and the number of years they want to offer him.

Funny how they ditch the mask in a more crowded setting, but not on the court.

I think we'll bring them both back since we're so limited cap wise. We need trade pieces.

Agreed. I'd bet they try to bring back both (if they can get both on one or two year deals) and use the MLE, to bring themselves back up close to the tax (though probably not as close as this year).
