he won WCC defensive player of the year and is one of four finalists for the whole country as a freshman. good luck to kyle lowry backing him down.

he's going to be a defensive menace in the nba. think of a taller and longer and more offensively skilled andrei kirilenko. not a lanky stiff like shawn bradley or whoever.
Pump the brakes bud. You're already saying he will be better than Kirilenko? That's batshit crazy.

So let's say, hypothetically, Masai & Bobby decide in the off-season to build around Scottie and re-set the time line. What about a trade with the Bulls to cash in some of our core for young potential and depth:

    To Bulls: FVV & OG
To Raps: Williams, Lonzo, Coby White, Derrick Jones + 2 FRPs

Why Bulls do it: FVV is championship tested and perfectly fits their age timeline. He plays defense and he's also an all-star. Spaces the floor for DeRozan. He's also from nearby Rockford. He would likely re-sign there in free agency. OG brings switchable defense and floor spacing, with some embryonic shot creation. He's still young and locked up for term into a decent contract, depending on how much you rate his offense and defense.

Why Raps do it: Lonzo fits our big ball-handler & switchable D ethos and is an emerging floor spacer, on a decent contract. Williams is the big bet... could he become the next Kawhi under the Raps vaunted development system? We'd have his un-restricted rights, if he breaks out. Coby White gives you buckets off the bench and backup PG/playmaking, which we sorely need. Derrick Jones is filler, but a very serviceable defensive wing with switchable athleticism. The 2 FRPs are assets to trade for a future legit all-star to pair with Scottie and Pascal.

    Starters:

    Lonzo
    Trent
    Williams
    Scottie
    Pascal

    Bench:

    Flynn/Banton
    White
    Jones
    Boucher/Thad (re-sign)
    Precious/Birch

Now we have legitimate NBA depth at ball-handling & shooting, without sacrificing anything on defense. Maybe still need a legit center, but we'd have pieces to trade for one.

The Timberwolves are a dangerous team.
We should have got a damn 1st round pick from Minny for poaching our lead assistant mid-season.

You have to give LeBron credit. Dude is 37, playing with a bummed knee and he's out there playing on the 2nd night of a back to back.
Just stat padding in yet another loss
