and in 20 years Leonard probably wants to be remembered for multiple championships instead of being associated with load management.
Leonard is going to be 31 at the beginning of next season....on the clock so to speak....
Maybe he does see the window closing more quickly than he used to.
When it's all said and done, yes all time great hall of fame etc, but most nba fans everywhere will remember him in his raptors threads from May 2019 to July 2019 the most.

Between game 7 sixers all the way to the parade/july 1 frenzy, was a 6 week stretch of Leonard of being the most talked about nba player in the world, and even a clippers championship couldn't ever top heights he reached.

People in LA won't remember a Clippers' championship, or even know that it happened.

he has no one around him. he has actually improved but he shouldn't be a number 1 guy
He went to Detroit to be the number 1 guy. He didn't like to be a supporting player in Denver.

So now he is own man! got his own team! (we know plenty of players like that from NBA history and mostly it ain't good) he is the best player on the league worst team and that will be his legacy.

He is justifying his decision. But at the end of the day money and ego are always the primary reasons.

The pistons are terribly mismanaged and coached. Could have chosen to come to Toronto and played for a Black African team president that is considered one of the best in league for a lot less money.

But money and role on the team was the deciding factor.

And what is wrong with role being a factor?

We criticize guys when guys when they team up or ring chase, and we criticize guys when they leave a good team to go try a new a challenge and lead a bad team. Can't win.

not completely the case. Money and basketball reasons are reasons to go. They should have chosen mobley. That said, we didn't have the money. Money factor in to a point but when things are close or all things being equal other factors increase in priority or influence. I don't think it was the number 1 reason but it shouldn't be understated. It's why more players are starting to go against the ncaa and play for HBCU's.. its slow but its growing

Nothing is wrong with that but as a Raps fan its always been a stick in my craw because of T-mac and what could have been if he stayed (not saying they could have won but they would have created more interest and maybe the meltdown with Vince wouldn't occur due to losing and constant coaching changes). Even Tmac said himself after retiring (paraphrasing) : "I should have stayed in Toronto, but I was young and stupid"

Attracting top notch free agents to play for Toronto has also been difficult to accomplish till today.

Grant was an important piece in Denver and was valued as such so its a shame for them to lose him cause he thinks he is much better than he is. Eventually he will come to regret that decision like many others before him when they placed their ego on the line. Its like the Kyrie Irving situation: "Hey I don't want to be second banana to Lebron, I want to be my own man" So he goes to Boston and that didn't exactly worked out as he planned as he isn't good being the primary option on offence so he goes crawling to Durant to accept that role again.

Grant isn't a star but an important role player, the faster he accepts that the better his career and the team he will be traded to in the future will be.

That is simply my opinion and they can do what they want with their careers.

                    • If only we can get Steven Adams,
our concerns at the center position will be fixed.
He's not playing at his usual self and seems unhappy in Memphis.

Yep. People are already forgetting the raw emotion of that time which wasn't that long ago. It was shortly after George Floyd, BLM and the bubble. If supporting black management was a big reason for Jerami Grant choosing Detroit, then I would tend to believe him... and applaud that. That said, IIRC, only a few teams had cap space that off-season, so money was obviously a major factor.
