  • How many wins for the 2014-15 Toronto Raptors?

Optimism abounds this year. Even pundits from south of the 49th parallel are calling for big things for our Raps.

For what it's worth I will call 52 wins and an Atlantic Division Championship. I'm always an optimist but I'm not the only one going into this season!

I like our depth and think that will be a determining factor over the long haul of a demanding season.

James Johnson and Sweet Lou Williams will be contributors. Stiemsma was the right guy to keep!

I don't quite think they will hit 50 wins this year.. would love it if they did but I'm tempering my expectations and am predicting 46 wins (2 less then last year).

I think Cleveland, Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit and Milwaukee got better. I think only Indiana, Miami, and Brooklyn got worse, and I think all the other teams stayed about the same.

44 wins. I was more optimistic a couple months ago, but I think we're going to stagnate this season. While this is still a pretty positive forecast, it feels glum next to you guys, lol. Here are my reasons:

Demar's handle is improved but his shot selection remains the same.
              TRoss remains mostly the same.
              Val still won't get looks.
              Too much jumpshooting.
Coaching won't outmaneuver better opposition scouting.
              Worse luck with injuries.
              Better competition.

              God, I sound like GLF.

              On the plus side:
Big year from Lowry and his first all-star berth.
              Better D from Val.
              JJ key matchup piece.
Lou is a supersub (but sometimes drives us crazy).

I don't think we can expect a meaningful contribution from the two Brazilians.

Maybe I'm being overly cautious after being too optimistic in the past, but hey, I'm a Raptors fan.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just my $0.02.

Has anyone made the "82 wins" joke yet? No? Raps will win all 82 games

Right now the poll looks like a giant middle finger turned sideways. So I guess we ARE going to win 53 games. Take that, NBA!

I think last year i predicted them to win 42-44 games. Pretty close. This year i thnk they'll win 51.

In this case, we're due for 57-59 wins, right?

LOL well you made some very good points. All the negatives you said are true or more than likely will be true so if that makes you sound like me I'll take it lol
I relish negativity and disappointment. It is not healthy. Somebody buy me a pony.
