i think you misinterpreted... he was saying that laker fans shouldn't freak out about losing to denver because he thinks denver is the best team of the last 5 years, not that the lakers were better than any team of the last 5 years. and he never mentions the raptors
I thought they were talking about the 2019 Warriors in the podcast

      • What is everyone lasting impression of Nick Nurse ? If he didn't have that final week's press conference in which he told
everyone he might quit he might have had a unblemished mark on his image .. He could have been the victim if the end
result is he got fired ..

        • My lasting impression of Nick Nurse is that he was a good Coach that got to preside over both a very talented roster that won a Chip and very mediocre rosters that fell short. Still ended up with a very good winning percentage and left on his own terms. I wish him well even though he's now the enemy. Standing O when he's introduced and booed thereafter

          • god damn I can't believe we argued if Nurse wasn't getting the most out of this guy

                • And they say we overvalue our players….

? Toronto: There remains mutual affection and respect between Lowry and the Raptors. If the Heat cannot get Lillard, it would be worth exploring the possibility of flipping Lowry and other assets (a first-round pick or Nikola Jovic) for 6-5 swingman Gary Trent Jr. (17.4 point per game last season) and power forward Chis Boucher. The salaries line up almost perfectly; Trent will make $18.6 million in an expiring deal and Boucher $11.7 million. The Raptors’ incentive? If Toronto determines it cannot or does not want to extend Trent and if it wants to get out of Boucher’s $10.6 million in 2024-25.

(although the mutual respect is true)

Lol it sounds like Miami is just going to waive and stretch him if they can't deal him. Raps arnt giving them anything. I would love to have Lowry leadership back for Scottie tho.

Lowry did say a few times he'll find a way to retire as a Raptor.

If he wants to re-sign here for cheap, wouldn't mind at all.

Feels early, if he's going for the minimum have to think a contender would make more sense for him.

If we lose Fred though, and have nobody in mind for the MLE, maybe Lowry would come on as a mentor with decent pay.

                          We could do worse.

Lowry showed in the playoffs he's still got a bit left in the tank.

I could see Lowry going to the Lakers .. Would he join his friend DeRozan .. Always amused when people say expiring contracts
are attractive .. More often then not expiring contracts are buyout contract ..

                              • Former Toronto Raptors point guard Dalano Banton has signed a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.....maybe our player development (for other teams) isn't so bad after all

With Fred's deal and now Anthony Towns and LaMelo signing 5 year $260M deals the NBA has jumped the shark. Mid and small market teams will only ever be able to afford one star player or less and have zero chance ever at a chip....
