  • Kawhi load managing out of a nationally televised Giannis rematch. Second load management game of the season after he and the Clippers originally said there was no load management plan this year, he was supposed to be good to go.

Yeah I knew the whole no load management thing was a farce. They play a b2b with Portland tomorrow. Both at home though. I guess they'll give the game to the Bucks and try to beat a western conference opponent instead with Kawhi.

      Hope he plays against Toronto.

      • Load management this early in the year is not a good look. And it's not like he's in his mid/late 30's either. He's only 28. LeBron James on the other hand is out there playing every game and he's 35.

        • Clips will end up a great team as roleplayers like Zubac and PP can play well off of a superstar, but built for load management they are not.

I think he's probably fine physically, he just believes in the (load management) concept (for good reason I guess). Whether his new team can keep top pace like we did, that becomes the question.

Uh... they are built for load management. Paul George is back in a week or two. He's basically a plug & play replacement for Kawhi on both sides of the ball. And PG would be replacing Patrick Patterson (lol) in the starting lineup. Clippers are just unfair. Kawhi stacked the deck too perfectly.

              • Wait, so the NBA determined that Kawhi isn't healthy enough to play back-to-backs, then fined the Clippers for saying he's healthy? Lmao

Why is this a big deal now? nobody cared about this last year. The Raptors managed his load for 22 games last year. Is it because he now plays in LA?

The official statement yesterday by the NBA was major CYA to protect the $24B TV contract covenants. It's self-serving for the NBA to so say, "hey ESPN, the Clippers convinced us that Kawhi is not healthy, so we're not violating any player availabillty clauses in the TV deal". Then Doc immediately broke ranks today and said Kawhi was fully healthy. What a moron. There's a shit-ton of money at stake here.

It's because a ton of Clipper games are nationally televised this year with major advertising dollars riding on the ratings. Those viewership numbers don't materialize when Kawhi ducks playing Giannis. ESPN is not happy.... to put it mildly.

                        • There you go Kawhi you are home, welcome to the scrutiny of the L.A media & having a bumbling fool of a coach who can't stop placing his own foot in his own mouth.

We are so early in the season & this kinda stuff wouldn't have happened in Toronto. Enjoy more heat & scrutiny down the line. For a private person Kawhi has escaped the perfect situation he had in Toronto.

I think he's dealing with some kind of a chronic leg injury. Why else would he miss all these games? s
ome people out there are now questioning his love for the game.

I hope he has a million microphones in his face every game he load manages asking him about it. Playing in LA isn’t all about sunny skies. A lot more drama and BS.
