    Last Time we Met:

    Game Notes:
    • The Toronto Raptors continue a seven-game homestand (Nov. 7-21) by hosting the Utah Jazz on Saturday night at Air Canada Centre. Utah was one of four Western Conference teams (New Orleans, Memphis and Dallas) the Raptors swept last season. The last time Toronto won three straight games against the Jazz was Mar. 17-Dec. 22, 2004. Tyler Hansbrough scored a season-high 23 points Nov. 9 vs. Utah last season.
    • Head coach Dwane Casey has an opportunity to tie Lenny Wilkens (113) for second on the team’s all-time Coaching victories list. In his fourth season with Toronto, Casey has a 112-127 (.468) record and is the longest tenured coach in the Atlantic division. Sam Mitchell holds the team record with 156 wins as Raptors head coach.
    • During the Dwane Casey era in Toronto, the team has increased its production at the free throw line through the first 10 games of the season each year. The Raptors made 152 free throws on 191 attempts in the first 10 games during the 2011-12 season, compared to 227 makes on 288 attempts through nine games this year.
    • DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas have exceeded their free throws made and attempts from this point last season. DeRozan, ranks second in the NBA with 65 FTM and 79 FTA, shot 43-for-52 (.827) through the first 10 games last season. Valanciunas has doubled his makes and attempts from last year.
    • During the 2014 calendar year the Raptors are 26-8 (.765) at Air Canada Centre. Toronto’s 5-1 record at home is the best in the Eastern Conference and tied with Portland for the best in the NBA.
    • Toronto is 6-0 this season when leading after three quarters. Dating back to the start of last season the Raptors are now 39-2 when ahead entering the fourth, including a perfect 24-0 at Air Canada Centre. Toronto has won 31 straight games when leading after three quarters.
    • Toronto leads the Eastern Conference in scoring (105.4 points). The Raptors have faced already faced three of the NBA’s top-10 defensive teams (Oklahoma City, Washington, Miami) and will face two more by the end of next week (Memphis and Milwaukee).
    • James Johnson is the only reserve player in the NBA averaging 10.0 points with 10+ rebounds, assists, steals and blocks over the last five games (Nov. 4-13). Johnson scored a season-high 16 points Nov. 13 vs. Chicago and became the sixth player in team history to have four steals and four blocks in the same game. Over the last five games Johnson has totaled 71 points, 34 rebounds, 17 assists, 10 steals and 13 blocks.
    • Jazz forward Steve Novak was part of the Raptors 2013-14 playoff squad. Novak appeared in 54 games and made 52 three-pointers while averaging 3.3 points. He was acquired from New York in a four-player trade July 10, 2013.

If the Raps don't come out on fire, I'll be shocked. I just hope that coming out aggressive means playing hard as a 5-man unit, not individual players taking their turn to prove something.

If we lose this one, all hell breaks loose. I'm already tired of the overreaction since last night's loss. We lose tomorrow and I think I'll need to take a Raptors social media hiatus.

Jazz are you're typical young team, all about offense very little defense. Hayward has been amazing for them so far, so we need Ross and JJ to bring the perimeter defense

We need to move the ball on offense and play hard and smart on defense. DeMar we need more passing and less dumb shots. Lowry is gonna torch Utah , there perimeter defense is terrible ( They let Melo have an east 46 tonight).

Casey don't play Chuck ever and stop the excessive benching of one Jonas. Also bench Vasquez, he's been one of the worst players in the NBA this season, almost makes you want to think what Dwight Buycks is up to these days.

Let's get his win Boys , Don't fuck up in the 3rd quarter again.

So for whatever reason this is the first Raptors game we've got on ESPN in New Zealand in the last like 7 years... even though it's not the ESPN broadcast, it's the local one. So weird.

But yeah Raptors going to win by 14, it'll be sweet.

Surely we'll see a bounce back from this team. They didn't suddenly lose the guts they showed last year, and lots of this year, despite all the adversity they created for themselves.

I'm expecting a blow out. Anything less will be slightly less satisfying.

Young teams are always the scariest. Even the best teams occasionally get out-hustled by eager beavers.
