He's a beast at collecting rebounds in the dirty areas right underneath the basket. He was that way in college and he was doing it again here. Kid deserves more looks.
He deserves to jump Bonga and Svi for minutes after last night. A clutch bucket and an almost game winner.

Never saw him before summer league but he feels like a Raptor and I like his all-court game. He just needs experience. He got put in a really tough spot last night and did well.

      • It's all hindsight now, but I was somewhat expecting Yuta to get subbed in there for OKC's last possession where Muscala hit the 3.

In the post-game, it seemed like Nurse was trying to send a stern message to his bench guys, and Champagnie was having a great game up to that possession, so I guess that's why we didn't see Yuta.

It's a pretty standard quote, speaking on behalf of the team. "Why do we always need a kick in the pants to play better, we need to respect our opponents and not worry about individual numbers". Of course it's Freddy so the sleuths start taking umbrage and figuring out why he's being selfish
Sure, but the boilerplate post-game quote would have had equally generic "myself included" in it somewhere. Otherwise, it comes across as finger-pointing. And Fred is pretty thoughtful and selective with his words, so internet sleuths have observed.

Yeah, the word "we" definitely doesn't include himself, what is he thinking...

Yeah, Champagnie was great for effort but was clearly out of sync and in the wrong spot a lot. On his go ahead bucket, he cut at the wrong time, Fred's pass was to him for the open corner three, thankfully he was able to corral it while cutting anyway and hit a tough look at the basket. Great effort, wrong spot, paid off. Then the defensive possession he left his man when he wasn't the guy to tag into the paint (help was already there) and gave up the open three (on a possession where you absolutely cannot allow a three, better a layup). The final possession I have no complaints, good effort to get a chance at a tip in after Fred really messed up that possession.

I called it with my son - if fred takes it it wont hit rim. And whyd he wait so long get it off in time for a rebound - or volleyball tap in. Brutal game. And up two give up an open 3? Facepalm
That was a really bad possession from Fred

Nothing changed. They've had close wins against bulls, hornets, Thunder, thunder, magic, pels. most of the wins were close, and 5 games at home.

give them some credit, but they mostly just mowed their lawn and ran over a bunch of piles of dog shit.
Rockets ran over a pile of Nets last night. Sans KD... but still. 7 straight without Green. wtf.

That should’ve been a win. They played down to their opponents, slacked on D until the 4th

thank you Freddie for bringing us back into the game but you shouldn’t be taking the final shot. You need someone who can get his shot off at any level of the floor. Pascal or even Gary should’ve had the ball
There were some really bad shots in the third. I wonder what they talked about at halftime. I wish this team could consistently move the ball and find good shots, that's when they're at their best, of course.

The idea of a pecking order makes a little bit of sense to me I suppose, when we think about this third quarter, and guys taking bad shots, It makes sense that some players (precious for instance) shouldn't try to do things that they can't do just because we're playing a bad team or we're up by 10. I think I prefer the idea of just not taking dumb shots... no matter where you sit on the pecking order. I'm a bit worried about the pecking order possibly stifling development of some players that are deemed to be lower down the pecking order, and I'm particularly worried about players higher up the pecking order taking inefficient shots (like Fred's at the buzzer) versus players lower down the pecking order taking efficient shots.

"I'm gonna shoot this ball 40 times and nobody better blink."

That's pecking order. Fred broke it down nicely in the pre-season:

This isn't high school or the Olympics. There's a lot of money involved here, which factors a ton into pecking order.

My favorite bit from the Peyton-Eli MNF broadcasts this season was them talking about what happens at halftime - basically nothing - and then going on about how there are still orange slices everywhere and that they probably made a bigger difference than any 'adjustments'.

Another cherry picked quote where he was actually sticking up for Pascal siakam and speaking from his perspective.

The anti-FVV socialists of the Republic has a strong spin group.

And here I thought the coach came in with a rah rah speech and made the 17 adjustments that Leo rautins and the game day thread had recommended.

LOL we want the offense to be distributed equally. Players of the world unite. You got nothing to lose but your chains

How is this anti-FVV? It's just a statement of fact about NBA pecking order with a backup quote by FVV explaining how that works, to the unwashed masses. Pecking order decides who gets to take the most shots and the last shot. It's totally relevant to the post it was in response to.

You're spinning more than Pascal's signature move on this one, Keon. And I'm not anti-FVV, btw. That ship sailed after game 2 of the Bucks series.
