It was the right play, Siakam mismatch on Rose, he just took a bad shot.
Glad they ran the Fred siakam pnr. Want to see Gary get more of a role in those late game situations tho

Not the right play. Siakam is not exactly a great iso guy. The best iso guy the y have is Trent. But pecking order so....
Depends what he did. Siakam post up on Rose, I'll take it. Siakam deep 2 on Rose? Terrible shot.

Brutal offensive night from a few guys but get the win with our defence? I'll take that.

Painful. Siakam had a stinker shooting the ball as did Fred. The bench is giving them next to nothing.

Barnes had some real good moments. He made a lot of little big plays.

It's one game but there have been enough of them through this season where it's been a struggle to score. There's enough scoring talent to put together a better offense that what they've shown so far.

Or, I don't know.......one of our best players and our starting center back? This game isn't even close if they had played. All of these last games.

No one point win is lucky, do you say that when we lose by one too?

I'll have to re watch the play. A post up on Rose would be a good play and I'd live or die with that shot for sure, but Siakam trying to beat Rose off the dribble, that's not a good play. Siakam is best using is quickness against size and his size against quickness. What he is not good at doing is using his quickness against quicker. That's been demonstrated over and over again.

Isn’t this what everyone expected, though? We joked in the off-season that Raps would be winning games with scores like 75-74.

                      Welcome to Raptors basketball.

                      • Offense was again brutal for the most part, but this time found a way to win. We suck at free throws when it matters. GTJR missed one, to give RJ a chance to tie it. Fred missed both his tech frees against the Thunder, and that would have made the difference. And we again left Randle open for the 3. Good thing he sucked last night and clanked that one.

Siakam was really inefficient, but got to the line. Some really good defense from him to keep the Raptors in it though. Fred had a good game. He was only 4-13 (4-11 from 3) but did the little things. Can't complain when you put up 11 assists when the team overall only had 30 field goals made. Barnes played like a ROY last night. 15 boards! Some sweet dimes. Got to the rim. Team high +14 as well.

We won, which is great, but it was another really awful performance from the bench tonight that has become a repeatable pattern all through this season. And yeah it sucks because our injuries is messing with our depth. Banton was a -17 in 7 minutes. 0's across the board. Can't blame him entirely but when he came in, we got absolutely destroyed. Svi missed way too many open looks. Yuta gave energy but he was 1-6. Flynn continues to not really help. Champagne brought good energy to help us seal/close the game again. But he's not an offensive producer at all.

You get OG, Birch and Achiuawa then we see less minutes for some of those guys, and more points off the bench. But I'm guessing that as soon as some of those guys start coming back we'll have another injury somewhere else. Every team always has someone hurt.. I get that, but it's so damn frustrating.

since when? Disagree - there isn’t enough. Pascal and fred are high in fga’s but have bad games way too often. We have 2-11...2-15 three point streaks like every game.

A lot of that comes when the bench guys play. Fred has been fairly consistent, same for Pascal. He hasn't had a game like this since Nov 18th when they played the Jazz and he went 2/14.

                            • Barnes is looking Kawhiesque more and more every game. When he wants to drive and convert theres nothing the opposition can do. And his shot selection is great. For a guy with questions about his shooting 49 fg% is a pleasant surprise.

just feed it to scottie and trent all night long...and OG when he gets back

Totally agree with you…this narrative just to defend a weak point about having Scottie slowly develop because it is a process is bullshit. They compound that with how he was in College.

First few games of the season, some said that he could come off the bench because he did not even start in College…. BUT…that lame excuse has died down after seeing him as a starter.

Now the next excuse is, he didnt have that much attempts when he was in college so why now…

Winning is not the priority so why hold back accelerating the growth of the no.4 pick…he was after all the byproduct of why this team sucked last season…there were several excuses as well why they suck…they did not play in front of the home crowd

they are 5-9 at home…oh wait, its because of the injuries

                                LOL
