Nah, he's goin' JJ style. Get a big A.S.G. COACH tattooed across his neck. Then when media criticizes his substitution patterns, he just loosens his tie and says, 'read it, bitches.'

It's gonna be very interesting to see how this plays out for the Raptors. Let's just say we continue to play like we have and somehow maintain the top seed in the conference come All-Star weekend. So DC gets the right to coach, but will any of his players be there to join him?

It seems unlikely to me that any Raps player will be voted in, regardless of how well the team is doing (unless we all max out our voting potential). The voting will favour guys like LBJ, Kyrie, Love, Rose, Noah, Pau, Melo, Wade, Bosh, Rondo, Wall, and Beal (maybe). And for those guys that don't get voted in by the fans, some will surely be picked by the coaches. What if the Bucks continue to play well and surprise? The coaches may feel it necessary to pick a guy to represent that team. What about guys like Horford and Teague (who is putting up decent numbers), and Joe Johnson (lol) and Deron Williams? There are alot of guards to chose from so it will be interesting to see what the coaches do. Derozan isn't taking the league by storm by no means, and we all know what Lowry does for the team, but many other guards are putting up better or comparable numbers. I know it's not all about numbers and the coaches know this better than anyone so it will be interesting to see what happens. Even if we aren't #1, and DC doesn't get to coach, it's likely we will be near the top of the conference and I'm curious to see how the coaches will spread out their votes.

How in hell would the coaches make this decision for the Bucks, but not the Raptors? Barring injury or a major team collapse, at least one of Lowry/Derozan is making it to the ASG this year.

I'm lazy so I won't dig the data, but I am pretty sure there hasn't ever been a team leading a conference around AS break left aside when it comes to selecting AS reserves.

I'd even say the question is: if Raps still lead by then, how can the coaches decide not to select at least two of them?

Well that's the question isn't it? You would think if we lead the conference come all-star break that at least two players would get to go, especially considering that lesser teams may have multiple representatives based purely on fan voting. I'm sure the coaches will ensure we are well represented, because if we lead the conference then two players gotta go to the game IMO. I guess Lowry and Derozan would be those guys. Lowry looks like a shoe in, but there is alot of competition for guard spots in the East.
