GV's defence doesn't overly concern me on the whole but in a match up against a Lakers team that does all its scoring from the wing it seems a poor choice. Lakers can only win if Kobe goes off, so stopping him should be priority 1. GV can't really match up at the SF spot. JJ makes the most sense.

Well, if Kobe is taking most of the shots anyway ... does it matter? It's only okay because overall the Lakers offense is a pile of poop. You kind of want to bait Kobe into over-shooting.

But if Kobe starts hitting those shots, that is the only way the Lakers can win. Better to shut him down early with JJ, then stagger with Ross. Allowing Kobe to get hot is the only real risk in this game, so GV doesn't make any sense.

James will still be fresh if he starts. It's not like he's gonna play 40mins lool. If James starts he's gonna play 25ish minutes and even more if he has it going.
